My first and second visits to Specsavers with my mom and sister were truly wonderful. The staff were warm, kind, and very helpful, which made us feel comfortable and well taken care of.
That’s exactly why we came back for a third visit, this time with my dad. We trusted the service and appreciated the good deals on glasses, so we expected the same positive experience.
Unfortunately, this visit felt very different and honestly quite upsetting. The staff member who assisted us made the whole experience uncomfortable. From the beginning, I felt like he didn’t want to help us at all and was just trying to rush through everything. There was no effort to communicate properly or guide us through our options. He didn’t explain the details of the glasses, didn’t ask about our needs, and barely engaged with us—he simply told us the price and asked if it was okay.
What made it more disappointing is that we were not being difficult customers at all. I personally work in a similar field where I assist patients and customers every day, and I always make sure to treat people with respect, patience, and kindness. I know how important it is to make people feel comfortable and genuinely cared for. We came in polite, respectful, and open, expecting the same level of professionalism in return. So to be treated in a way that felt dismissive, cold, and unwelcoming was honestly disheartening.
My parents even noticed it—they felt like he was irritated or upset while assisting us, which made the whole situation even more uncomfortable. For a place we trusted and had such good experiences with before, this was really disappointing and, in my opinion, unacceptable and unprofessional.
That being said, I truly want to thank Chayenne (I believe she is the manager). She completely turned the situation around for us. She was kind, understanding, and very accommodating. Her attitude made us feel at ease again, and she reminded us of the level of service we experienced during our previous visits.
I don’t want to cause trouble for the staff member, but I do feel it’s important to share this experience honestly. Despite this incident, I will still give a 5-star rating because of our past positive experiences and the excellent service from Chayenne. We will continue coming back, and I truly hope that all staff can provide the same level of care, professionalism, and friendliness that we experienced before.
