I rarely leave negative reviews — or many reviews for that matter — because I’m generally shy and don’t complain much. However, my experience here has not been great.
For context, I have a strong prescription and a low nose bridge, so it’s already difficult for me to find a suitable frame and have precise adjustments made. Reza has been very helpful and has gone above and beyond to correct issues, but whenever other staff assisted me, the problems were worsened and some questionable methods were used to try to resolve them. So this review reflects the overall experience. If you visit this location, I would recommend asking for Reza. I also would not recommend calling, as they appear to be short-staffed and often do not answer the phone.
The first issue was that the lenses in my frame were very thick at the bottom due to my higher prescription and the optical center being positioned high. This was somewhat corrected after a new frame was ordered with the optical center lowered slightly. However, another issue arose: the newly ordered frame had green earpieces instead of black. This appears to have been missed during ordering. I don’t necessarily blame anyone for that, as the product images did not clearly show the earpiece color.
The recommended solution was to order black earpieces and replace them, which seemed straightforward. When they arrived, the earpieces were initially installed incorrectly (including being put on backwards and upside down), requiring multiple adjustments. Even after attempts to correct the installation, the result was never perfect and had visible defects.
I decided to live with it and returned a few days later to have the earpieces adjusted for better fit. Unfortunately, a different staff member performed the adjustment and damaged one earpiece entirely, bending it in a way that could not be reversed. I came back another day, and after attempts to fix the bend failed, a replacement earpiece was taken from another frame and installed instead. The removal process was quite aggressive — the frame was held and pulled apart without heat — which was surprising to see. Although the end result was acceptable, the replacement earpiece did not appear to match the original exactly.
Eventually, I returned again and spoke with Reza, who recommended ordering a completely new frame. When the new lenses arrived, they had visible chips along the edges, including one noticeable under the metal rim. I requested that my original lenses be installed instead, but this resulted in a visible gap at the frame joint when the lens was seated. The frame should close flush around the lens, but didn't, so the issue appears to be related to lens fit or edging — possibly due to being transferred from a slightly different frame.
I returned once more to address this, and the screw was tightened to reduce the gap. While this improved it somewhat, the frame still does not sit as cleanly as it should.
I was ultimately told that no further remake could be done because it was past the 30-day guarantee window, despite the ongoing issues stemming from prior remakes and adjustments. This entire process lasted nearly two months, and I have barely worn the glasses for two weeks total, so it’s unclear when the 30-day period would reasonably have begun.
Overall, this process involved repeated errors, inconsistent workmanship, and unnecessary back-and-forth for something that should have been handled correctly the first time. I expected better quality control and accountability.

My experience shopping at LensCrafters was excellent. I ordered a pair of Oakley sunglasses at the Eaton Centre store but wasn’t happy with the frame or lens colour. The store staff were more than happy to reorder a different frame and lenses for me.
The reorder took some time and arrived on the day I flew to BC. The Eaton Centre staff arranged to have the sunglasses sent to the LensCrafters store in Victoria, which made the whole process incredibly convenient. I received a call about a week later and picked up my sunglasses in Victoria without any issues.
Throughout the entire process—ordering, trying on the first pair, reordering, and picking them up thousands of miles away—everything went smoothly and without any extra costs (other than the lens upgrade). The staff at both locations were friendly, professional, and very helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend LensCrafters to my friends.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
