They provided my father with companionship, prepared his meals, provided him with activities which kept his mind and body alert, they made sure he was safe and happy. They made sure his medications were taken and encouraged him to keep active. He didn't always want to listen but they managed to cajole him into doing what they knew was the best for him. Things like reminding him to use his lift chair to help him get up or to keep his feet raised. He enjoyed their company and they felt like family. They also provided me with the knowledge that if I wasn't there with my Dad I could feel secure in knowing that he was being cared for in a loving and professional way. It gave me time to recharge my batteries and time for my family as well. I don't know if I could have coped as well as I did if it weren't for their caring, knowledgeable expertise. I would recommend them in a heartbeat if you need someone you can trust to be with your family member when you can't be. You know they care when they go and see their clients at the hospital or when they have moved to a facility. They do that on their own time as they connect with them. When someone hired to do a service for a family member asks "how are you doing and is there anything I can do for you here" you know they are compassionate people and that is what I got when I contacted Home Instead. I thank them every day for how they treated my father and how they helped our family.
