I haven’t been to Club Pilates Victoria super often, but the classes I’ve taken have been great. The studio is clean, welcoming, and the instructors are knowledgeable and encouraging. Workouts feel effective and easy to follow, even if you’re newer to Pilates. Overall, a solid spot in Victoria.

tried one « free » class, I had to buy 30$ sticky socks. When the 30 min trial was over, we were cornered and peer-pressured to take a subscription and the salesperson kept mixing up the prices. Weird and uncomfortable approach.

I rarely leave negative reviews unless I’ve had a truly bad experience, but this situation felt like a complete scam regarding membership fees. Anyone thinking about joining should think twice.
I decided to cancel my membership effective February 1st. According to their rules, 30 days’ notice is required, so I called on January 2nd (January 1st was a holiday and the club was closed). I informed the staff that I wanted to cancel starting February 1st. I was then told that I had to come in person to fill out a cancellation form. In today’s digital world, it makes no sense that they cannot simply email a form or allow an e-signature, but I agreed.
I explained that I was traveling and would not return until Sunday afternoon, but the club closes at noon on weekends. The staff member told me it was fine to come in on Monday to sign the form as long as I had already called to give notice, which I did. Based on that conversation, I believed everything was handled properly.
When I went in on Monday to sign the form, a different staff member told me that February would still be charged because I “did not meet the 30-day requirement.” I explained again that I had already called on January 2nd and that another employee had accepted my verbal notice. She checked the notes from that call, confirmed what I said was correct, and told me she would inform her manager and contact me if there were any issues. I assumed the matter was settled.
On February 1st, they happily deducted another month’s payment anyway. When I called on February 2nd, yet another staff member insisted I “didn’t meet the 30-day notice,” despite the fact that their own records clearly show I called on January 2nd and came on January 5th. She even asked me to provide PROOF that I was moving—as if that has anything to do with simply following their cancellation rules.
She also claimed a voicemail was left for me on January 5th stating I would still be charged for February. I checked my phone history—no voicemail at all. Despite the fact that I called to cancel on January 2nd, signed the form on January 5th, and confirmed the cancellation with multiple staff members, I’m apparently just expected to believe their claim and pay anyway. How convenient.
This entire process has been frustrating, unprofessional, and completely misleading. They agreed to my cancellation, documented it, and then turned around and ignored it to take more money.
If they refuse to refund my money, I will be disputing the charge with my bank and reporting it as an improper and unauthorized deduction.
Extremely poor customer service and a very disappointing experience. I would absolutely not recommend joining this club.
