Iraj has been wonderful. He helped me pick new prescription sunglasses (I am very picky when it comes to glasses). I tried on dozens of frames and he helped me find a perfect one. He patiently explained which lenses would work best for me. He also fixed my existing glasses as they were sitting uncomfortably. He fixed the nose pad and leveled them. Iraj is such a pleasure. I will definitely be back. Iraj has been most helpful.

Dr. Kevin did an excellent job with my eye exam at the clinic — very professional, detailed, and worth the cost. I would definitely rate him 5 stars.
However, my experience at the retail store afterward was extremely disappointing, especially with one salesperson named Amin (an Iranian man). He refused to measure my eye distance before I chose a frame, insisting I pick one first — even though measuring should be part of the eye exam I already paid for.
He recommended a $248 frame that was identical to my old one. When I politely asked again to complete the measurement first, he became visibly annoyed and used the machine roughly, pressing it hard against my nose. I remained calm, but it was very uncomfortable.
Afterward, when I asked what my measurement numbers meant, he responded sarcastically: “Are you going to become a glasses maker? Why do you need to understand?” That was unprofessional and disrespectful. After he asked me what is my job? When I told him I work as a marketing manager in high-tech, he appeared even more impatient. I asked if Black Friday will have promotion. He said I should know better than him since I am a marketing manager. By the way, I work in high tech, not retail store, how I can know if you have promotions in the store ????
Because of his attitude, I decided not to purchase my glasses there — even though I have $500 annual vision insurance from work. I reported the incident to the store manager, who was very kind and understanding.
I have been a Clearly customer for over 10 years, but this experience left me very disappointed. As a customer, I have every right to ask questions and make my own choices without being pressured. Respect and professionalism should come before sales. When he knew I probably won’t purchase the frame here, he just left me there and took the frame away. I feel very uncomfortable and don’t understand why people can so mean like this way. If he was a bit nicer. I will buy there and it is Nov and my insurance spending account for glasses plan will be expired end of Dec this year, anyway I need to use it.
I guess that Iranian man may think I am an Asian woman and easily to get ignored. He assume he treated me unfairly and I will be silent and won’t speak out. This is so wrong! He definitely misjudged me! Remember this is Canada. You should learn to respect women and people before landing this land!!!
I ended up not making any purchase — not because of the product, but because of how I was treated. No customer should feel pressured, ignored, or dismissed. I’m sharing this so others can make an informed decision.
Frequently Asked Questions About For Eyes By Clearly
How do I know if my child needs glasses?
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
