I came to Fitness World after a really high-end “fitness club” in my home country and a failed attempt to replicate that experience when we moved to Vancouver.
I was hesitant to try another gym, but after almost 3 months, I cannot say enough good things about the vibe at Fitness World on W. Georgia. I go there and instantly feel motivated to work hard. For me, it has been the
most encouraging place to learn to lift. I was a cardio/dance/runner person before and always ignored the weights and machines aspect of gyms. I really like that adults of all ages, body types and fitness levels go there, which as a 55 year old woman makes me feel welcome, and when my 21 year old son was here on winter break he came with me and also asked absolutely loved it. Yes, there are fancier gyms with nicer locker rooms and showers, but MY
gym, FW on W. Georgia has everything I need to keep motivated: good equipment, lots of space for stretching and individual exercises, and a fantastic app, which keeps me accountable.

These people are scammers. I cancelled my membership over a month ago and they’re still charging me!! I emailed them about it and they completely ignored my email and then I called them 3 times, they didn’t give me any clear answer and they said “there’s nothing I can do. I’ll talk to my manager and I will call you back” and of course, they never called me back and it’s been days. The guy on the phone was rude. I haven’t trained at this gym for over a month, why am I still being charged? You’re supposed to remove people’s bank account info when they cancel the membership!! Scammers!!

They need to implement signing up for time slots at peak times like they did at some gyms during COVID. It's impossible to get a workout in this gym at peak hours (5-7pm on weekdays after work). None of the machines I want to use are free and when I do hop on a machine someone's constantly asking you how many more sets or they're standing around watching you until you finish.
It shouldn't be that hard to manage crowds through the app but these guys actually don't wanna bother. They only care about maximizing membership rates.

This is by far one of the worst gyms I’ve ever been to.
The place is constantly overcrowded. No matter what time you come, you can never find any equipment available. You end up wasting most of your workout just waiting around. Completely unacceptable for a gym that charges premium prices.
There is zero sense of safety. No proper supervision, no organization, and no concern for members using equipment correctly. It honestly feels chaotic and poorly managed.
The only thing the staff seems to care about is selling personal training. They aggressively push personal trainers on you, even when you clearly say you’re not interested. Instead of improving the gym or fixing real problems, they focus entirely on upselling.
On top of all that, today I found out they charged me a $60 maintenance fee that I never agreed to and was never clearly disclosed. I only signed up to use the gym for two days, and suddenly I’m being forced to pay an extra fee that was never mentioned. This feels dishonest and borderline scammy.
Overall, terrible management, misleading charges, unsafe environment, and zero respect for members.
I do not recommend this gym to anyone.

I signed up at Fitness World (Georgia) in December with the $1 membership promotion. However, when I went to cancel at the end of December because I’m moving to another province, I was told I would still be charged an additional $62 for the year.
What’s most frustrating is that this fee is on top of the monthly membership payments. So even if you’re paying month to month, they still add this yearly charge, meaning you end up paying more than you expected when you signed up under the “$1 promotion.”
I asked to speak with the manager to understand the charge, and he told me I shouldn’t trust the sales person and that I should have read the contract because “it’s in the contract.” I consider this misleading advertising: the promotion is not explained clearly, and in the end you still pay the membership anyway (or more).
Customer service was also very poor. This is not how paying customers should be treated when they are simply asking for a clear explanation.
Advice to management: don’t run promotions your staff can’t properly explain. It only ends up disappointing and frustrating customers.
