I had been struggling with frozen shoulder for over 6 months and was consistently going to physiotherapy, but unfortunately, I saw very little improvement. I had almost lost hope that I would ever regain full mobility in my shoulder and arm. Then I started training with Paria, and within just one month, the results have been incredible. My shoulder mobility has significantly improved, my pain has reduced dramatically, and I can now lift my arm much more freely without discomfort. Paria is extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and truly cares about her clients’ progress. She took the time to understand my condition and designed a program that worked specifically for me. Her guidance, patience, and expertise made all the difference. I honestly didn’t think I would recover this quickly, and I’m beyond grateful. I highly recommend Paria to anyone dealing with injuries, mobility issues, or looking for a trainer who genuinely knows what they’re doing.

The gym itself is very nice and everyone at the front desk has always been kind to me. Unfortunately my personal trainer made comments and jokes about my medical condition in front of other people while I was working out. The breach of privacy of my personal medical information was dismissed by management. There was no resolution other than ‘sorry it impacted you in a negative way’. Really disappointing.

Working with Paria as my personal trainer has been amazing. She is knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely cares about her clients’ progress. She always takes the time to explain exercises properly, correct my form, and push me in a way that feels encouraging. I’ve seen great progress and actually enjoy coming to my sessions because of her energy and dedication.🙌

I’ve been trying to get clarity on an issue with bringing my teenage son to work out. When my son turned 14, he expressed interest in a gym membership to Club 16 North Van where my wife and I are members. Before committing to a membership, I wanted him to try it out. I enquired at Club 16 if I could bring my son as a guest, and was told he couldn’t work out without a membership. At various other times, I’ve been told he needed a membership and a personal trainer. Then I was told, it just had to be him working out with an adult. Most recently, I was told he couldn’t work out at Club 16 until he was 19. Club 16 management, I’ve got a kid who actually wants to work out. Your staff’s knowledge of policy is inconsistent and it is very frustrating. I know that there is a $20 drop in option for non-members. Why does this not apply to my son? Is it an age thing? If he would be allowed to work out at Club 16 with a membership and an adult/trainer, why couldn’t he try a drop in session with an adult/trainer? It doesn’t make any sense.

On March 14, 2026, my wife and I, long-time members of Club 16 Trevor Linden Fitness since 2011 at the Coquitlam and North Burnaby locations, visited the North Vancouver branch on Lonsdale Street with a friend whose dog had passed away the night before. We thought a workout might help lift his spirits. Our memberships are on bi-weekly authorized payments from my MasterCard, which have been active for many years without issue. When we arrived at approximately 10:15 AM on the second floor, a staff member named Amir informed my wife that she could not enter because her membership had not been paid. I explained that both memberships are linked to my authorized credit card payments and have been for years. Amir then stated that there was a $21 late payment fee and that he could not do anything about it. Unfortunately, his approach was abrupt and lacked basic customer service. He did not offer any assistance or attempt to clarify the situation. As a result, the three of us were left standing at the entrance feeling embarrassed and humiliated in front of other members, and we decided to leave. I immediately contacted our home branch in North Burnaby. They confirmed that there was no issue with my account or payment method, and they also sent me a confirmation email verifying this. I then returned to the North Vancouver location to speak with the assistant manager, Sara. She was very understanding, took the matter seriously, and apologized for the incident. I sincerely appreciate her professionalism and her efforts to help address the situation. However, the experience itself was very disappointing. My wife and I, who hold Elite memberships, felt humiliated in front of others. As a medical professional, and with my wife holding a PhD, we expect to be treated with basic respect and professionalism. This was particularly upsetting given that our friend was already emotionally distressed after losing his dog. Our friend later told us that he will not return to this location, and my wife and I will also avoid the North Vancouver branch in the future. No matter how good the equipment or location is, customer service remains the most important aspect of any business. At our regular branch, the wall displays the message “No criticism, no judgment.” Unfortunately, in this situation we felt judged and dismissed due to what ultimately appeared to be an internal system error. There is also a photo of Trevor Linden on the wall with promises to members, yet the experience we had did not reflect those values. I would strongly recommend additional customer service training for staff to ensure that situations like this are handled more professionally and respectfully in the future. Once again, I would like to thank Sara for her kind explanation and apology.
