    I recently started weight training for the first time in my life, and working with Xen has made the entire experience incredibly positive. He really takes the time to understand my mobility issues and adjusts every session to match my abilities while still pushing me just the right amount. His patience, knowledge, and encouragement have helped me build confidence and make steady progress. Highly recommend Xen to anyone looking for a thoughtful and effective trainer.

    My experience with Club 16 has been extremely disappointing, and I want to warn anyone considering a membership to be very careful when signing the contract. The information they gave me at the beginning was not what they followed later, and they ended up charging me over $1500 completely beyond what I had agreed to. I repeatedly told them I didn’t have the flexibility to attend . Every time I tried to call or visit in person to book a personal training session, there was never any availability that matched my schedule. It was always inconvenient and felt very unprofessional. I went there in person, called many times, and emailed them asking to cancel my subscription. Instead of helping me, they kept referring me to ABC Fitness Solution. When I called them, Every single time they were either confirming they’re cancelling my subscription and next month again, I was charged on my credit card. When escalation was requiredc I was told a callback will be made but no one has called. With the busy schedules we all have, it’s very frustrating to deal with this amount of runaround and stress just to cancel a simple gym membership. In the end, they charged me much more than what I signed for, and absolutely no one took responsibility or helped me resolve it. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. I truly hope they improve their communication and billing practices, because this was unacceptable and not legit.

    On the outside, one might look at club 16 and say “oh wow, that’s just like any other gym.” But once you step inside it couldn’t be any further from the truth. You become part of a community, a family. Whether it’s the people, the pristine workout equipment, or Trevor Linden’s doe eyes, you’ll be coming back again and again. The layout is ever-changing, meaning you’ll never get stuck in the same old boring routine, and the ceiling keeps you on your toes and spices up your workout like no other gym can. Make sure to tell Zouxi (pronounced “Zouxi”) at the front desk that I sent you for a complimentary club 16 surprise! Ps: also make sure to pray to the picture of Trevor linden at the front for good gains before your session 💪💪

    I transferred from the Langley Club 16 to Maple Ridge after moving to Maple Ridge. Langley said it should take 24 to 48 hours, but it was over 3 weeks before my membership was transferred after repeated requests and reminders by the Maple Ridge staff. Not sure why the hold up, but the MR staff were professional and very friendly during this process and remain so each time I go. They always smile and give notice to say hi or bye to every person walking in and out of the club, as did Langley, and MR is very helpful with requests or inquiries. I really like the club overall. Bathrooms are kept up better at MR as well.

    About a year ago, I was speaking with a membership person who told me that if I changed my plan, I'd benefit from using the red light, infrared etc. however they are often overbooked due to them not functioning reliably and people needing to mive their time. Additionally, the lights in these rooms are changed to be these ultra dim bulbs which makes it hard to see what you're doing. The buttons on the controls to start and stop often don't work. Asking to have a manager contact you results in being referred to a membership person (which is how this all started). After multiple attempts to speak with a manager and being ignored I give up. Last time I tried, I was directed to membership where I was told 1) I'd get to access the additional therapies 2) I could cancel anytime 3) o. Month to month I could pause the membership when I travelled. I had a busy spring /summer and travelled. And was contacted because my membership payment didn't process. I told them I had asked to pause the membership. The agent assured me they would take care of the error and contact me if there was any issue. Fast forward to now, they can't figure out who any of these people are, and have no idea who the person was who updated my membership. Basically you can't count on anything they say, the manager doesn't return phone calls or address concerns directly. It's limping along I guess, but I'm at the point where I'll just forgo the remaining prepaid personal trainer time and close the account with visa, as the charges were NOT supposed to be happening/authorized. Seems to have gotten worse since whatever restructuring they did. Trevor Linden doesn't seem to be as involved as he once was or I suspect the simple things requiring repair wouldn't still require repair (things like TRX straps, missing bar clamps etc). If I have to bring my own equipment I may as well work out at home. To add to this, I left a review previously (3*) and was immediately contacted by text from a call center. This contact caused me to note that my review seems to have been hidden. That resulted in me changing the review to 1* If you need to speak to someone you have to publicly shame them to reach assistance. The staff seem nice, but empowered to do nothing to fix the situation. I've since had multiple attempts by their contact center to reach me and while I replied I didn't hear back yet. Perhaps another automated system is down. Staff encouraged me to start sharing publicly. I guess they see the lack of response through less public channels too. Hope this helps someone else.
