  The people at Home Instead have been absolute life-savers for my family. Over the past year, my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and developed chronic edema in her legs. She lived alone in a house in BC, while my wife and I (her only family in Canada) live in Ontario. We were eventually able to move her to a retirement residence close to us here in Toronto, but Home Instead provided vital care and support at a time when my mother would otherwise have been isolated in her house with no ability to look after herself. I honestly don't know what we would have done without them. The caregivers who went in to look after my mom were amazing, as was the staff at the main office. I didn't have a single interaction with Home Instead that wasn't friendly, compassionate, helpful and professional. My phone calls were always answered immediately, and emails were replied to promptly. The care staff cleaned the house, prepared meals, did shopping and errands, provided shower assistance, handled medications, and took my mom to all her appointments. Because of her Alzheimer's disease, mom would often be confused, scared or even angry when I spoke to her on the phone. But whatever else was going on, she consistently took the time to praise the Home Instead care staff. She formed a real bond with them, and continues to speak fondly of them to this day.

  There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful Darryl and Home Instead are. So accommodating, amazingly understanding, and all around wonderful people. Darryl knew exactly what my family needed and how to help navigate this new chapter we're currently in with an elderly parent. He has helped to guide us, thru experience, with suggestions on how to manage our whole family's needs.

  We have used Home Instead to help my elderly mother cope with her dementia and decreased mobility. The level of care have been exceptional. Darryl and all the staff are always available to help and go the extra mile. They have dealt with many difficult situations that have come up and helped come up with solutions and always remained positive. I was always confident my mum's best interests were being looked after and she was in good hands.

  The Home Instead team is top-notch from top to bottom. My dad had two care aides during his time with Home Instead and they both became like family to him. Caring, professional and discrete. The office staff was also a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend Home Instead if you're looking for in-home care for a loved one.
