As a coach, athlete, and competitor myself, I had the privilege of bringing not only my team but also myself to Onward Tucson on the day of a major competition—and the results truly spoke for themselves. From the moment we walked in, the team of Dr. Emma Seeberg and Dr. Abigail “Abby” Bird made us feel like top-tier athletes who mattered, not just another appointment slot.
Dr. Emma Seeberg’s specialty is exactly what my team needed. Emma is an ICE Certified Specialist in Orthopedics, with credentials in CrossFit and weightlifting athletes, running, and even postpartum & pregnancy prep.
On competition day she zeroed in on stubborn trouble spots—hamstring, lower back, elbow, wrist—using a sophisticated blend of manual therapy and progressive exercise. Several of my athletes came out of their sessions saying they’d never felt so “open” and “free of pain” in areas that had bothered them for weeks, months, or even years.
Dr. Abby Bird complements this work with her own impressive niche: she’s an ICE Certified Specialist in Fitness Athletes, holds a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer credential, and focuses on strength, conditioning, sport-injury and performance rehab.
Her approach is exactly what we needed as a team gearing into competition: identifying movement inefficiencies, reinforcing optimal patterns, and giving each athlete individualized guidance so they arrived on the floor stronger, more mobile, and confident.
What stood out to me:
Rather than a generic “feel better” session, Onward Tucson did a comprehensive assessment (“No guess work” as their motto says).
They used advanced manual therapy techniques—myofascial decompression, cupping, spinal manipulation and more—to actually relieve symptoms on the spot.
Then they followed up immediately with corrective exercise and movement retraining, so the relief wasn’t just temporary but set our team up to compete at full capacity.
What mattered most: by competition time, each athlete reported fewer “aches” or “nagging pains”, improved range of motion, and a readiness I rarely get to see when they come out of the prep room.
From my vantage point as coach + athlete: Emma and Abby delivered exactly what performance-driven competitors need—fast symptom relief, smart movement adjustments, and a long-term plan to keep us from regressing into old pain patterns. On the day of the event, I felt secure knowing both myself and my athletes had the best support behind us.
If you’re serious about taking your training, your competition performance, and your recovery to the next level, I can’t recommend Onward Tucson strongly enough. Emma and Abby are top-tier, athlete-first practitioners who don’t just fix you—they elevate you.
Huge thanks to the team—you made a big difference for us. We’ll absolutely be back.
