- BVBrenda VidonicDec 7, 20251.0In September I received a GoGo Ultra. When I went in for my eval at the Phoenix location I told them I'd be moving to Tucson in a month. They told me there would be a Tucson location. I also told them I'd be using the scooter every day with maximum round travel mileage of 6 miles. I was told that would be no problem. One day last week, Monday December 1st to be exact battery was fully charged. I needed to go to the grocery store which is only 1.5 miles away. I made the trip there once before. Imagine my surprise when half a mile from home the battery just died. ON THE SIDEWALK. DEAD. I HAD TO CALL LYFT to rescue me. I looked up the Tucson location. There is no Tucson location. It's listed as closed! Phone wait times for the queue for the Phoenix shop location, the only Arizona location, are ridiculous. Please someone get in contact with me. I don't have a car. This scooter is my only mode of transportation. I think the battery is crapping out on me, no, I know it is.

To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?

Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
