Summary: I’m very impressed with the teaching staff and owner thus far for this location. Each teacher I’ve attended has each taught me different techniques and I’m very appreciative of the time and energy they’ve put into me as a member. The membership is expensive compared to some traditional gyms but for me it’s been worth every penny. The owner has always been friendly and continues to offer competitive sales. Teachers: I highly recommend that any new attendee take a class from Jennifer prior to any other class. Her focus on fundamentals is the most helpful to developing correct posture and form. Her experience teaching in New York is very evident in her skills, technique, and attitude. Be early and listen. Her level one classes seem to have the similar structure, but for me it’s always helpful and keeps me aligned. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I also recommend Stacy for newcomers as she goes slower and pays attention to proper form. She also alters the content in her classes so you’ll learn a variety of techniques and learn different fundamentals. Her ab work is challenging but oh so wonderful. Kylie moves very quickly and so I don’t recommend her for a first time class, but once you’ve taken a class or two she has a great level one course and will give you a challenging workout. If you’ve never taken Pilates before or are limited in your mobility she may not be someone to take first. If you’ve worked out in any other manner she might keep you busy and help you feel engaged. It really depends on your experience with Pilates and training. Updates: Now that I’ve taken more classes with her I recommend asking her questions if you’re confused. She’s very helpful and descriptive when asked. She does move quickly, but now I have more experience I enjoy the rate of her class and she pushes me to become better. Britni is new and I’ve only taken center and balance courses with her but she takes her time and adjusts the content well for beginners. I really appreciate that she adds balance practice to the center and balance and also creates a nice atmosphere that is both challenging and rewarding. I always feel more relaxed after her class. Classes: Center and balance is the easier class in terms of strength and endurance. It focuses on flexibility and pain relief. Flow classes focus on a series of exercises to help build core strength and full body conditioning. As I complete more class types I’ll update this post. About me: I’m coming up on 2 months for my membership and I currently have taken 29 classes. I’ve only taken level 1 classes thus far. Prior to taking Pilates here I’ve taken yoga and mat pilates at gyms and have gone to Lifetime personal training in the past. I was also a raqs sharqi (belly) dancer for many years. I stopped working out when I had my son and hadn’t stepped foot in a gym in 4 years. In the two months I’ve been here taking classes 5 days a week I’ve had significantly reduced pain in my lower back, hips, knees, and shoulders. I’m stronger and feel more physically stable. I have a connective tissue disorder that encourages hyper mobility and double joints and attending these classes has helped me tremendously. The horizontal training keeps me from throwing joints out of socket and enables me supported mobility and movement.

Pretty bad first impressions. Upon booking an intro class, I was hit with texts and phone calls asking about my fitness goals and why I wanted to try Pilates. I get the intentions, but it was too much and off-putting to me. Went through with the intro session and booked my first actual class for 6 AM, only to show up and find no one there. The doors were locked. Waited with a few others in the parking lot until about 6:10 before we all gave up and left.
