  ‼️DISRESPECT & RACIAL BIAS AT PLANET FITNESS‼️ 📍Scottsdale — 10105 E Vía Linda Suite B-110, Scottsdale, AZ 85258 I was honestly starting to enjoy this location — until tonight, when I was completely disrespected and humiliated by one of their staff members named Jacob. At around 9:31 PM, I was getting ready to take a quick shower before closing. Out of nowhere, this young man stepped right up to me and said, “Hey sir, you can’t take a shower, we’re closing.” His tone was rude, confrontational, and unnecessary. I calmly replied, “It’s only 9:31 — you close at 10.” Instead of acting professional, Jacob became aggressive, stepped closer into my personal space, and snapped, “You’re rude and you’re not showering — I’m cleaning.” That’s when things took a turn. I asked him directly — “Are you doing this because I’m Black?” Because honestly, that’s exactly how it felt. I’ve seen how others — white members — get treated here, and they’re never spoken to like that. The energy was different. The tone was different. The disrespect was different. When I tried to speak with the young lady at the front, she immediately took his side, claiming she believed her employee. I told her she didn’t witness how he approached me or how close he got to my face, but she still acted defensive and dismissive. Eventually, she backed off slightly but was still rude and unhelpful. By this point, I was completely in shock. The way both employees handled this situation was unprofessional, disrespectful, and reeked of racial bias. I have never been treated this way at any Planet Fitness before — until I came to this one in Scottsdale. I will not stay silent about this. I will be filing a formal complaint and escalating this incident directly to Planet Fitness upper management and corporate offices. What happened tonight was unacceptable and wrong on every level.   I just recently moved to Scottsdale. I have been a member of planet fitness for many years. I was happy to find out there was a planet fitness near my new place. The gym itself is nice, however the customer service at this location is not. I’ve been there twice now. The first time I went tanning they never told me the bulbs were just replaced, I got burnt to a crisp. The second time the bed stopped working 30 seconds in. They then proceeded to tell me due to their policy I would not be able to tan and I would have to come back tomorrow. Ok, let's just ignore the fact that that it’s a complete inconvenience for me to have to come back the next day but I would like refund or new sample lotion I just had to use for absolutely nothing. Unfortunately, mam due to our policy we can not. The whole situation was very strange. If this is how they train their employees I’m not sure I’ll be back. You can’t just deflect what ever issue may occur back on your customers, in repeat of it being policy! I could have been talking to an AI bot and even it would have had better customer service skills then what I had to deal with tonight 🫩

  I go to Planet Fitness all across the country and this one was stellar. It was incredible seeing how peaceful it was, and clean as well. Arian was at the front desk, and he was very helpful and kind. I totally recommend going to this gym if you live in the Scottsdale area.

  Great equipment, but there are always people sitting on their phones texting or having conversations on their phone like they are waiting in a grocery line. It’s so distracting. And the inside of the club feels like it is about 55°, which is horrible for a workout and muscle recovery!!! I’ve been going here three years and it just keeps getting worse… More phone conversations, more people squatting on equipment, and the temperature keeps dropping! Go to EOS. Very disappointing.
