This is the best pharmacy in Scottsdale that I’ve used for both prescriptions and vaccinations in the past 10+ years. The current pharmacists Joy and Yelena, as well as the techs, are always there to get your prescriptions filled, and to answer your questions too, and this despite the lack of adequate staff at many times. A truly 5 star pharmacy.

When the regular pharmacist is there, this place is amazing. When she is not there, they will not fill prescriptions called in by your provider. This has happened three times. It goes like this: I run out of a refill. My provider sends an order for a refill to the pharmacy. I go to the pharmacy the next day to pick it up. The substitute pharmacist says the provider never called it in. My provider never says they called something in when they didn't, but I call the provider and they say they called it in. They even give me the day and time they sent it to the pharmacy. The substitute pharmacist says "nope, it isn't here, come back tomorrow." The first time, I did come back the next day, at which point, the substitute pharmacist again denied that the refill was called in. Finally, I got the provider's staff on the phone in front of the pharmacist, and the staff said they called it in. The substitute pharmacist said it was not there. After much back and forth, only then did the substitute pharmacist check their fax and tell me it was in the fax. Then they said "come back tomorrow." Understand, by this point, it had been sitting in their fax machine for two days. I came back the next day, at which point, the substitute pharmacist said it was not filled. I insisted, and she told me to come back in half an hour, so I went and got a coffee at the store's Starbucks. When I came back, the substitute pharmacist was telling the customer ahead of me the same thing: sorry, the provider never called in the script. The second time they did this to me, the substitute pharmacist said it wasn't called in, and I asked them to check the fax, and of course, it was there. It had been there. For a whole 24 hours or so. I asked her to fill it. She said "come back tomorrow." Understand, there was no one else in line, or I would have done that. Since there was no one else behind me, I told the substitute pharmacist that it was not my fault that they do not check their fax machine, but I needed my prescription filled. There was no yelling or tantrum-ing, just me asking them nicely to do their job. She filled the prescription. The third time this happened with the substitute pharmacist, I decided that this was this pharmacy's policy. Every business is entitled to a bad day, but this was Albertsons pharmacy's standard procedure, apparently. They're understaffed, so substitutes don't fill scripts that have been called in, only refills. It was not the same substitute pharmacist. My provider tells me that Albertsons pharmacy never answers their phone even for providers. They could not even call the pharmacy to straighten it out. It's fair that when your provider calls in a refill, you should be able to go to the pharmacy the next day and expect it to be filled. I switched pharmacies, which is a shame, because their regular pharmacist is fantastic.
