My child is medically complex and wheelchair bound, and we are there every two weeks at this point for treatments. The care by the nurses and doctors is phenomenal. However, there is a problem with the parking. I know that the hospital is expanding, and I know at one time, security patrolled the lots. That doesn't seem to be happening anymore because the last two visits, when leaving the second floor entrance and going to the lot right across the street, there's been a vehicle parked in the pedestrian entrance from the sidewalk -- meaning that I had to take my child up the vehicle entrance/exit. This is a hazard that must be addressed, as well as vehicles parking in the marked off spaces beside the handicapped spots meant for vans. You cannot use ramps with someone parked there.

I had a very negative experience with a staff member that was working at the front desk of the hospital. Elise or Eslie was extremely rude, passive aggressive and displayed an arrogant attitude during my visit. I was sent there for work and due to confidential circumstances, I was treated very poorly! I strongly believe this behavior is very unprofessional and reflects poorly on the hospital especially since it’s the very first area that you have to go through besides ER. It would be advisable for her to receive additional training or reconsider her role at the front desk.

It’s nice to know that the professional courtesy I extend the patients of Little Rock and Arkansas is not reciprocated by the outpatient radiology department at Children’s when I’m concerned about my son.
Update: the radiographs and labs of patients are the patients property. I’m an orthopedic surgeon who could have diagnosed my son’s X-rays today who has had problems with his hip so I could get him crutches. I was wanting formal ordered X-rays in the system so that ongoing care and decision making and the information to treat him would be available to anyone making decisions. However, Children’s denied me the opportunity to see my sons X-rays and get crutches for him today due to their lack of courtesy and availability to his/our property of the medical record.
