My son has been waiting since May 2024 for his new wheelchair from National Seating & Mobility, and his case has completely fallen through the cracks. We’ve made repeated calls with no response from corporate and no coordination between the local and national offices. This company essentially controls a large part of the wheelchair market, and that kind of monopoly leaves families like ours without options or accountability. People rely on this equipment — it’s not a luxury, it’s their legs. Something has to change. The government and healthcare agencies need to address this lack of oversight so families don’t have to fight for what’s medically necessary.

Let me be clear, the only person I trust at this place is David Nix. He is very professional and knows what he's doing. I wouldn't trust any other tech at this place. I recently took my chair in to replace a simple bracket that holds the backrest in place. A family member took my chair in while I waited in the car. The tech, who's name was also David (not David Nix) took an hour and a half to fix this simple piece. When I arrived home and got into my chair, I realized he had royaly messed up the adjustment of my backrest. I'm a quadriplegic with zero core control, so I need my backrest to be angled back quite a bit so I don't fall forward. There was absolutely ZERO reason for him to mess with the adjustment of my backrest. The bracket is a simple bolt on piece that has nothing to do with the adjustment. Anyhow, he had adjusted it where I was sitting straight up. Straight up doesn't even describe it. I felt like I was literally being forced in a forward position. I couldn't raise my arms without falling forward. It was so bad, that if I would have went down any type of slope, I would've fallen on my face. I called the office and the tech called me back. I explained the issue and I was quite upset. His response to me was "huhh... when can you bring it back?" I explained that I couldn't because my family member had to take their entire day to travel over an hour away, and I didn't know when I'd be able to find transportation to return. I asked if a tech could come out to my home and fix it, like they had done before, and since they're the ones that messed it up. I was simply told no. I then told him that I'd figure out a way to adjust it myself, and I got the reply of "ok." I then hung up. He clearly did not understand that this chair is my literal lifeline. He gave zero shits about me or what he did. He took zero accountability and didn't even offer a simple apology. If there was another place in Alabama, I'd go there instead... Below is an attached photo of the piece that needed replaced. You can clearly see that it has nothing to do with the adjustment of the backrest. *Update* While attempting to adjust the backrest myself, I realized that the tech also did something to cause my backrest to be severely crooked and I'm unsure of how to fix it. Below is a picture. *Update #2* The company reached out to me and offered to send a tech to my home to fix the issues. I wish that it wouldn't have taken 8 days for this to happen, but I digress. Denny arrived and was very pleasant and professional. He was able to adjust and straighten my backrest in just a few minutes. He also checked the brakes and other bolts/screws/nuts for tightness. I initially gave a 1 star review for the way my chair was handled. Although it's not 5 stars due to my initial experience, I've decided to change it to 4 stars since the company tried to make it right. So, although the tech that initially messed up my chair never apologized, I do want to thank the company owner and David Nix, for reaching out and apologizing for the situation.
