Horrible customer service!!! If you have VA insurance and Community Care tries to send you here DONT GO! They take forever getting anything done with the VA and are not compliant with the correct process. I spoke with Vivian about the VA referrals and billing and she was one of the rudest, unhelpful, and most unprofessional ASSociates I've ever dealt with! She was very short with me and would not take any of the information that community care had told me to give her. She was not handling the process correctly but was hateful to me when I just tried to make sure she was sending everything to the correct contact info. Then she hung up on me. My first time (a year ago) was for a cleaning and the water was so cold it hurt. I have one sensitive tooth and asked her please dont spray cold water on it but she continued to. Then, I went in 3 months ago to have a night guard made and still have not received it. No phone call or communication from them explaining the delay. I usually dont write reviews but this place has not treated me right. I will never go back. Maybe one day I will get my night guard but who knows. I have verified that the VA has paid for it so its on them now.

I was referred to Knolewood Dental through the VA Community Care program after my crown and bridge fell out. I was originally scheduled for a crown and bridge replacement. When I arrived for the procedure, the treatment plan changed without me being informed, and I ended up having a tooth extracted instead. I accepted it at the time because it seemed better than leaving a broken tooth. During my first consult, I met the older Dr. Brown, who was very kind and had excellent bedside manner. I genuinely have nothing negative to say about him, and that is one of the reasons I didn’t raise concerns earlier. However, after that first visit, I never saw the same dentist or hygienist again, and there was no continuity of care. Fast forward to this week—I lost the tooth and called to ask about a replacement. That’s when the problems began. The receptionist was rude and dismissive. When I asked about the process for getting a replacement, she abruptly said I would need to call the VA unless I wanted to pay $680 out of pocket. I then requested a copy of my dental records. She told me, “We don’t release them because of a contract we have with the VA.” I said I believed this was covered under HIPAA. She replied, “I’m not going to argue—it’s our policy.” I asked for a copy of that policy or something in writing. She continued repeating herself in a rude and dismissive tone. I asked to speak with a patient advocate or someone else. She placed me on hold without explanation. After about 1 minute and 15 seconds, the call disconnected. When I called back, my number had been blocked. I still do not have my records, and I am currently without a tooth. At this point, I’m not sure if I should call from another number or take the hint and move on. Unfortunately, that means going back through the VA approval process, which can take months. After reading other reviews, I noticed many of the negative experiences involve front desk interactions. Unfortunately, my experience matched that pattern.
