I definitely would not recommend this business. I originally made an appointment at the sheilds rd location, and the lady informed me that their X-ray machine was down today. It works every other day but it’s down today. So I gave her the benefit of the doubt and she offered to shift my appointment to a location that had the machine. On my way to the other location, I received a call from the office and the lady tells me that they won’t be able to give me results today for an xray because it’s close to their closing time (7:00). Mind you it’s 615/630 when they call me. They said that they would have to send off the pictures to a radiologist and wait for them to come back. Okay last I checked results for an xray are provided as soon a picture is snapped. Especially for something simple like a broken hand. But either way, what happened to taking care of the patient? Your facility is advertised your open for URGENT CARE patients until 7:00 pm. So because your provider didnt feel like doing their job and wanted to cut out early, I’m left with a broken hand and back to finding somewhere to get help. And if my doctor isn’t skilled enough to be able to interpret a simple xray, or have little concern for their patient., I wouldn’t trust them enough to give me treatment no matter what it was. Last point, I’d save yourself and go somewhere else.

I should have rated the Whitesburg clinic years ago. 7+ years going there. Wish they could be my primary care, again. Really appreciate the time and thorough exams I and my family are given when we visit. We go from this ☹️🤧😷🤕🤒…. to 😃! The whole staff are kind and understanding! Special kudos to Daphne Berry CRNP and Julie Styles CRNP!

I am extremely disappointed with the way my family member was treated during a recent urgent care visit. We came in seeking immediate attention for allergy and asthma symptoms, but the staff refused to provide a steroid shot - even though it is clearly indicated on past history at this clinic. Initially, family member was only told to use Flonase (over the counter), but family member received cough medication and methylprednisolone tablets after urging staff for something more than Flonase. Sinus infection was also diagnosed. Needless to say, the asthma and crackling in chest grew much worse and today we are faced with another trip and wait at an urgent care. It will not be at AFC on Whitesburg.

I came to get my palms/hands checked due to an irritation. Check-In was a smooth and timely. Vital check-in ran smoothly as well. The wait time for the nurse practitioner took longer approximately 29 minutes. I was in the back room and worried I may have been forgotten. The room was also very warm and uncomfortable along with spider webs. I kept hearing people walk by my door and talking. So, I just went to go ask if someone was still coming to see me, both the tech who took my vitals and the nurse practitioner in a very sarcastic tone chuckled  about my wait time and told me I wasn’t waiting long. The practitioner proceeded to enter my room about 10 minutes later and instead of asking me how I was, washing her hands or being polite started to lecture me about  what a  wait time is in a doctors office as if I haven’t experienced it before. I was being patient, just wanted to know how much longer is my wait was. The parking lot was empty when I arrived. I just came to see about the irritation on my hands. Not to be lectured or mocked by staff. She didn’t even touch my hands, just looked at them. And proceeded to diagnose me. ( Which was helpful, but the lecture was very unnecessary as I am an adult not a child.) The young lady at the desk, very helpful. The other two need a refresher on how to speak to patients. I completely understand they may have been understaffed, but that’s when communication is key. Even if my situation may not be dire enough to them, it was to me. I have never been more so disappointed by a medical staff. Hopefully in the future, they’ll be better. Kindness goes a long way.

We had an AWFUL experience at this facility today. I took my 3 year old in for a variety of symptoms with and was met with a tremendous lack of bedside manner and rudeness from nurse practitioner Daphne Berry. When she came in the room, my *very sick* 3 year old had fallen asleep, she rudely told me that I needed to wake him up. I understood this so I tried to gently wake him up, as to not startle him and to help make sure he was more cooperative when she was checking him. I thought he was awake and about to sit up so I briefly leaned back to give him space and he laid his head back down. She, again, rudely looked at me and stated “I need him awake and sitting. Not just awake. That’s what I said.”. I was annoyed, not at the request because again, I understood, but at her tone and rudeness. Later she asked me if he was allergic to any medication, I said no and indicated I was allergic to one so out of an abundance of caution, have so far opted to not give it to him and instead go with an alternative. She asked if he had ever had it, I said no and again, repeated why and she said “well when he’s not being given the best one, they’re going to have questions”. I said I understood and said they usually give him this alternative, to which she cut me off mid sentence and stated “I think I know what to give him”. I never gave her any push back because all I wanted was for my child to be treated, but almost all of her responses to my answers were hateful and very clearly filled with distaste and judgement. I have never been treated with such rudeness by a healthcare professional or seen such a lack of bedside manner with a literal child. If you don’t like your job or know basic patient bedside manner, just stay home and don’t make it anyone else’s problem. We will not be returning to this facility in the future.
