Upon arriving for my appointment instead of being met with a "hello" or "good afternoon", I was met with a "we close at 7, we were hoping you would show up earlier". I understand the closing time is 7, but why was 6:40pm an option for setting an appointment? If there was an earlier appointment that happened to open up, my number was on file from setting my initial appointment a phone call would have saved both parties the grief. Secondly, what's the point of making an appointment if I'm expected to show up earlier? Instead of being treated with respect from the front receptionist all the way up to the doctor I was met with blatant impatience and no concern for my needs of being at the doctor. I was swabbed for COVID and that's the only medical device outside of getting my vitals that touched me ( my blood pressure was high, nothing was said or done about that) the doctor basically gave me the generic "it's a viral GI issue". To touch back on the appointment issue, at this moment in time ( not that it's anyone's concern outside of my work and my wife's) we are a one vehicle family with two children that needed to be picked up from their respective after school care centers. 6:40pm was the slot that worked best for us. The next time I'm in the medical situation I was in (or worse) I will most definitely go out of my way to avoid using this establishment or any affiliated medical facilities (not that my money will affect you in any way). I don't like knowing that someone in worse conditions than I was could be rushed through in such a careless manor and all because it was closing time. In the history of my 40 years living, I have never been into a medical facility and been back out in under 20 minutes... no care and no empathy was given for the conditions and symptoms I had been experiencing for the past 2 and a half days. My temp was between 100 and 101.2 for two days not able to eat and uncontrollable diarrhea. Luckily my wife was competent enough and intelligent enough to understand my symptoms and able to get something remotely close to alleviate the symptoms. Like I said from receptionist to the doctor this visit was unprofessional, unpleasant and left me feeling like I was the one in the wrong, and they were supposed to be there to help get me back on my feet or in the right direction. They should not be holding a medical license.

The lady behind the front desk was just toxic. After she asked why I was there (I had already completed the sign in), she went on a literal rant about how "they can't do this" and "they don't do that", over and over and with a huff announced she would "HAVE to talk to SOME one" and exited with dramatic flare. I didn't quite believe the hype because I had had the same thing done several months earlier at that same location. She then grumbles back to the window and loudly told me to "SIT DOOWWNNN to WAIT", I guess because I was standing at the window to see what she had to say when she returned? Geez. There are other ways to say things. When she called the next person, she was basically yelling at him: "Oh, no...We don't do that. We can't do that...You will need to go some where else....We can't do that..." I am not certain what he needed done, it looked like a problem with his hand, but after hearing the exact same thing for a what I knew they could do, it just didn't seem honest at that point. He asked who she would recommend and she snapped at him with attitude a couple of other AFC's. When he started to search on his phone, she in no uncertain terms told him to get out of the way of the check-in window, though no one else was in line or in the lobby other than myself. Pretty awful. I was seen without further problems and the rest of the staff was fine. I can't imagine working with a person that dramatic and angry all the time. People go there looking for help. They are not there to be berated..

The worst experience I've ever had at an AFC. They took swabs on my daughter then the NP came in to tell us the swabs were negative and what she had was viral. She did this before she even spoke to us and she didn't even wait the full time usually required for the swabs to result. Then when I told her we had a small concern for pneumonia and we were hoping to get an xray she reluctantly agreed after telling us if we were worried about that we should have gone to the ER. Then she came back ten minutes later to tell us the XR machine was broken and she forgot. Honestly I believe she saw my daughter was disabled and it made her uncomfortable providing her care so she immediately decided she didn't want to help us. I've been to this location many times and seen a female doctor and she is great but this NP was rude and frankly not helpful at all. I will be calling for a refund.

5⭐️s. Travelling and coming down with something that could be serious, on the phone with my PCP—they said head to ER or urgent care if I could find one. Went to AFC in Calera, hoping for the best. Sooo thankful. Getting in was more efficient than I’ve ever seen. Visit was professional and detailed. Nurse practitioner was knowledgeable, kind, and I felt that I was in good hands. She answered all of our questions thoroughly. Diagnosed, meds, easy out the door. Getting good treatment is paramount, but the quick in and out is just impressive.
