  I have been a member at the Inverness PF for 4 years and have seen this store decline over that time. Comparing to others in other cities across the US, I find this one not up to par with others I have visited. If it were not for the convenient location and my group of buddies that also go here, I would consider other 24/7 options for the same cost, also having a wider variety of equipment. The biggest issue is the inconsistency of the opening times. It has happened numerous times that the gym doesn’t open timely and can be as much as an hour or more which is very inconvenient for members. There is no way to contact anyone at 4AM. The second and more significant issue is the lack of hot water in the showers. For example, there was no hot water in the showers this morning or Friday AM although a repairman came to the gym on Saturday. This is extremely disappointing to the people who need to use the shower before heading in to work. Staff listens and is apologetic but management seems uninvolved. Lastly, the equipment in this gym is not as updated as other stores in Birmingham and other stores I have visited. I would think that the PF Corporate Office would require certain standards and opening time, hot water and a base standard of equipment would be monitored with expectations in place. Kudos to the staff but -C for the manager/owners of this store. I hate to post in a forum like this but complaining in the gym has not had any impact. I noticed other complaints and the owner suggested that the complainer should reach out to the clubs management team….. wouldn’t you think the the owner would contact them themselves and raise all sort of heck u til these problems were fixed? What sort of owner asks their customers to basically do their job for them???? It explains a lot about why things are like they are in that store. My advice would be that the owner be at the store everyday at 4am and talk to the people who pay his salary, oh and, they should plan to shower their as a part of their experience!

  Need to shower after the gym? Just be ready for constant cold showers. If a restroom is used and flushed while in the shower get ready for it to stay freezing cold. Worst showers of any gym I have ever used. It's awful how bad they are.

  My new spot. I moved to a different part of town. Didn't even realize that this was only 5 turns from where I live. And next to where my brother works. Gym and breakfast in the same stop. Fat and tan is a good way to live, love and eat. Come on Y'all life is short get eggs and bacon then sweat it off.

  I've only been going to Planet Fitness for about a month, and only started working out with weights a little longer then that. The worst part about all of the AL locations is that they're not 24/7 and often you'll find yourself waiting for employees to open the gym. I spent 20 minutes waiting at the Inverness location before deciding to drive to Vestavia's location. When I left there was about 8 people waiting outside to get in. There should be contingencies in place if an employee can't show up, life happens and most understand that, but people are already paying for an inferior gym experience when we could be going to a 24/7 gym for roughly the same price or maybe a justified amount more for 24/7 access. Ok the negatives aside the overall gym itself has a wide array of machines and dumbbell weight up to 75lbs which is enough for most unless you're an IFBB competitor. I've made progress in the month here so I can't leave too harsh a review. However not having loadable barbells leaves you with their 60lb max. Meaning you can't row more than that unless you use a Smith Machine and same goes for skullcrushers, you are stuck unless you do dumbbell skull crushers. An added benefit of this place though is how helpful staff can be, especially if you're a black card member. Overall I can't give more than 3 stars though simply because the gym gets over crowded at peak and you end up waiting for machines. Once you outgrow this gym within a year or two I suggest finding a 24/7 gym. In response to the owner reply: The crowd meter works for your home location only and I'm not changing that every time, besides I'm always the first in the gym at 4am, I have no reason to check the meter. By 6 or 7 am the later crowd starts to show up and I'm finishing up, it wasn't a plea for assistance just merely an observation. Also, get a hack squat machine, PCB location in FL has one.
