This is from the cleanness, staff friendliness. I changed my gym location to Riverchase where Max works now. My goodness that gym use to be a hole in a wall and now it’s better than the Irondale location.

Brian was the same, easy to talk to and get an informative response. The new manager Lisa, not so much. Previously my membership was free through my former company. Once my former employer quit paying for the membership, I went in multiple times to figure out what I needed to do, and if I could pay for the membership in full so that I wouldn’t have to deal with the monthly account debit. The answers I received were not very good, nor concise. If you ask, can you pay in full, why get a response around the monthly cost? In a nutshell, if I have to pay for my membership, I definitely want a competent manager that can answer a few basic questions. 24 hour fitness is more expensive, but that’s my new gym. Bring back Max or Brian, or at least someone that will listen to the question prior to formulating an answer. It’s interesting because several of the members at 24 hour fitness are former planet fitness members. Customer service has become a lost art, or maybe corporate culture no longer makes it a priority. In any case, I won’t spend my hard earned retirement cash with planet fitness. After 7 years of membership the place is in a downward spiral, in my opinion.
