I’ve lived in Vancouver for 10 years and in Edmonton for the past 2 years, and I can confidently say that Dr. Margaret Chen is the best eye doctor I’ve seen so far. She is extremely professional, thorough, and takes the time to explain everything clearly about your eye health. You really feel well taken care of. Her background is also very impressive, with training from University of Waterloo and a university in California. The eye exam cost me $134, and it was absolutely worth it — I would honestly be willing to pay more for this level of care. While the glasses in-store are a bit on the expensive side, the quality of service, the doctor, and the efficiency are much better compared to many places in Edmonton, including the South Common area. Overall, the pricing feels fair for what you get. Highly recommend booking your eye exam with Dr. Margaret Chen — you’ll understand what I mean once you visit.

Kingsway mall location, Edmonton AB. Everything was fantastic! Very friendly and efficient. Dr. Chen and Cheryl were both amazing. My previous prescription glasses (only about 1.5 years old) were stolen out of my car during a concert, and Cheryl was able to find a very close match for replacement. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

I had an amazing experience thanks to Neil and Kendrick. Kendrick helped me through the entire process of getting my Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses. He walked me step by step through the insurance and pricing, making everything easy to understand, and treated me with nothing but care and respect the whole time. Neil also did a great job helping with my measurements and adjusting my glasses so they fit perfectly. I’ve been coming here for about 3 years now and I’ve honestly never had a bad experience. The entire staff has always been professional, kind, and helpful every time I visit. Amazing team and great service — highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
