This is the only good thing I have to say about National Seating and Mobility. If you have a deadline for your install, or if you like customer service and good communication, perhaps look elsewhere. My lift was delayed in transport multiple times, and no one reached out to notify me until the day of scheduled install. We had a set discharge date and ended up scrambling needing a ramp the day our family member was discharged from the hospital. The office staff lied to me multiple times, they were sassy and not understanding when I was upset. This was all over the Christmas holidays as well. I felt disrespected by the office staff when they told me a piece hadnt come in, but after speaking to Jim, he said it was really the whole lift hadn't been shipped yet. On top of that, a manager was supposed to reach out to me to talk about this experience (I have requested someone reach out multiple times now over the past 4 weeks) and no one has bothered to call me yet. Now our lift is installed and everything is fine, but I am still so very unhappy with how things were handled and the lack of customer service.

Couldn't imagine a purchase of this high a value with this company as I would trust their punctuallity for future service.I has a later appoint with another company and they called ahead and were on time.So obviously that's my choice. Lately, NSM senior technician Rob helped us in no time or cost with our charger for our stair climber when no one else in the market was able to give us a solution. Awesome people to deal with, kind, prompt and they understand well the purpose of their business. Thank you from all the family members for the continuous support.

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
