She was a 10\10 @ Southcentre Mall this morning! From the moment I walked in @ opening, I had a great feeling. Not only was she knowledgeable and helpful, but she taught me more than I ever knew about glasses.
I had a great experience @Lens Crafters today and can't wait to try on my new glasses once they're ready! I did not catch her name, however, sometimes just caring is enough. Thank you Lens Crafters!

Patricia was wonderful. She took time to help me, despite me walking in without an appointment and she kindly repaired my glasses for me while I waited. The store was very busy, but she took time to listen to what the problem was, found me a seat so I could sit and wait, then repaired my glasses. She also cleaned them before handing them back to me.
Exceptional service. Thank you so much

Optometrist review:
I have been getting my eyes tested at least yearly for over 35 years. My recent appointment here left me feeling that this industry (or at least this location) has entirely turned to greed. Testing for dry eyes then marketing "use for the rest of your life" drops in the appointment felt like such a ambush and attempted money grab through upselling like a subscription service. Sure, likely they an justify it by additional assistance, but all the push towards upselling appointments, accessories and other things made this feel much more like a sales pitch than a medical appointment.
Lenses:
I purchased a pair of single-vision high-index 1.74 lenses with “premium” anti-reflective coating, along with a mid-range designer frame. The total cost was substantial, even after insurance and discounts. Within two years, the lenses developed a cloudy, hazy section near the bottom that could not be cleaned and appeared to be coating failure. The lenses also smudged easily from early on and were consistently difficult to keep clear.
I understand that frames can break over time, especially depending on design, and I accept that as part of normal wear. What is harder to accept is premature lens degradation at this price point. In over three decades of wearing glasses, I have never experienced coating failure or persistent haze like this, particularly not on lenses marketed as premium.
At this cost, I expect lenses to remain optically clear and durable for more than two years under normal use. Unfortunately, this pair did not meet that standard.
I am wearing a pair from over 4 years ago now and I can literally feel, and see, the difference in quality of lenses. And these are just from some independent place. I really don't see any advantage to using lenscrafters anymore, there is more selection, but with poor testing and poor lens quality it really seems like they have completely sold out.

I have purchased glasses from this store multiple times over the years and have generally had good experiences. Last year, however, I was upsold a warranty for the first time on a pair of Meta glasses.
I recently returned to the store to inquire about a defect while the glasses were still under that warranty. I was told by the manager that if the store handled the replacement, I would be required to pay a $125 co-pay. Alternatively, I was told I could go online and handle the issue myself.
This was surprising and disappointing. Requiring an additional fee at the time of a warranty claim feels misleading, as the warranty was presented as coverage for defects. Charging again when attempting to use it undermines the purpose of purchasing the warranty in the first place.
I believe this practice needs clearer disclosure at the point of sale, as it comes across as double charging for warranty coverage. Who does my $39.99 warranty go to? If lenscrafters, then they should not be charging another $125. Time to move my loyalty somewhere else.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
