In 2009, Debbie Franchuk, RN BN, opened the first local office after identifying the need to provide seniors, aging adults and their families with quality Home Care options. For over 16 years, we have been the trusted provider to care for seniors and aging adults. Our client focused approach means we design our care around the needs and unique preferences of our clients. Our team now provides care for all of Calgary, Airdrie, Okotoks, Chestermere, Strathmore, Cochrane and the surrounding areas! It put a lot of pressure on members of the family to step in and become care givers, especially my mother-in-law. It became very evident that she needed respite for her own self care and also for time to do day to day chores as simple as grocery shopping. We spoke with 4 difference care groups and from the start Home Instead was the most professional, supportive and caring. Within days of choosing them we had a full digital family support page with comprehensive information about scheduling and visit notes. The Caregivers who attended to the family were gentle, carried on conversations and spent time completing small tasks to help with daily life. Big shout out to Dawn, she made my father-in-law smile, when smiling was not easy. Connecting with the team about changes was easy, and their phone was always answered. Unfortunately when the time came to move to our next phase their team didn't question us or push back on our need to cancel. Instead their sympathy and understanding was outstanding. Should we need extended care in the future, Home Instead will be our first call.

It is highly unprofessional to invite a candidate for an interview and then completely disappear. It shows a lack of respect for people's time and suggests a disorganized internal culture. Very disappointing experience.

Mom has some early signs of dementia and needs assistance with some things around the house. She, like many elderly people, was reluctant to have "strangers" in her home, or to accept any help. The staff at Home Instead made an effort to get to know her and our family in advance of us needing their services. The staff who came to help out were professional, courteous and friendly. Mom was full of stories of their lives and said she really enjoyed their "visits". I was able to a take a few days away and relax knowing that mom was in capable hands. Their family room where you can track activity online is very user friendly and provides additional peace of mind. Anyone who is looking for assistance, should DEFINITELY reach out to Home Instead.
