We issue both apostilles and authentication certificates. The country in which you will use the document determines the type of certificate you need. An apostille certificate is for documents you use in countries in the 1961 Hague Convention Treaty. Authentication certificates are for documents you use in countries not in the 1961 Hague Convention Treaty. Go to our website for more information on how to submit your request. We offer mail-in and appointment service. If you are traveling in over 5 weeks, mail in your request. If you are traveling in less than 3 weeks, make an appointment by calling 202-485-8000.
