The animals here are so precious and so loved, you want to take them all home. The staff is amazing with showing you the animals and taking their time to view all the animals. The facility is very clean, and the animals are so clean and you can tell they are loved. You should definitely check them out if you're looking for your next furry bff. 🐕🐈🐾

I contacted the Montgomery humane society yesterday. My mom had already filled out to work online to adopt the dog. She called them and told them that she wanted the dog and believed everything was set to go for the next day. I contacted them myself just to make sure what type of payment they accepted. This was all in the afternoon, too late in the day to make the drive. Shortly after contacting them we did notice new pictures and what seemed to be a boost in activity on the dog's page which was a little weird but we just assumed they were being nice and posting more pictures for her to look at Today they left first this morning to go get the dog and were a couple hours into the trip almost there when the place opened. They contacted the humane society to verify the address and were told that the dog was adopted yesterday. While I am very glad that the dog found a home this was very upsetting and to me very inappropriate behavior. It's discouraging for anyone who want to go through this in the future. My mom was excited and had already purchased size appropriate toys, leash, and bedding. Today she is heartbroken

Play don't let you check on the pets that you drop out like strays, but I kinda understand. They were real nice and the facility was clean

I’ve now adopted 5 animals from MHS & I cannot say enough positive things about the facility & staff. The general public has zero idea what the employees of MHS do for these animals. The emotional, exhausting days. The work that they put into everything single animal that comes through those doors. They suffer more heartbreak than anyone could ever imagine, then they go home, wake up, & do it all over again. I am so grateful for my animals I have adopted through them (most recently 2 kittens back in July). But just as grateful for the staff, volunteers, & the thankless jobs they do day in & day out! I hate to hear anyone talking down on the shelter because they truly have no idea what goes on behind shelter doors. I would have never gotten a chance to adopt one of my dogs had the shelter just “given up on him” as so many people claim they do. They would truly save every animal if they could & they deserve so much more recognition. Please volunteer & donate instead of assuming.
