The cashier insisted it was a ten. Only after I pressed the issue did the “missing” hundred-dollar bill suddenly reappear from the back. When I confronted the mishandling of my money, the cashier refused to give me the food my fiancée and I had already ordered and paid for. Police were called. They confirmed the store could deny service, but this situation raises serious concerns of attempted theft and retaliation. We left with nothing late at night in Charleston, when most food options were closed.
