We arrived at 4:30pm on a Tuesday, so not busy. It looks like a bar, and it is, however there are maybe 10 bar stools! Mike was tending bar and serving, and did a great job! He listens well, is very well trained, and menu knowledgeable! Sharp young man. Our first time to BB's on North, and everything was excellent! No joke.
We didn't have pizza, and we will be back, even though it's a hike from St. Francis! They have plenty of pizza options for every taste and desire. And, BB's makes their own dough, do I need to I say any more? Bottom line, the menu has something for everyone.
We had calamari strips and they were awesome. Some of the best calamari we've ever had. As good as St. Paul Fish Market in the Milwaukee Public Market, and SPFM is maybe the best in Milwaukee!
We had a Caesar salad which was wonderful. Might have had little too much dressing, but it had grape tomatoes 🍅, crispy croutons, small thin parmesan squares and grated parmesan, plus a variety of greens, just outstanding.
Finally, we had the petite filet (beef) which was cooked perfectly, medium rare, with an amazing light sauce. My wife ate the outside edges, that were cooked medium and I ate the inside, which was medium rare. So everyone was happy! And it came with French fries that were hot, plentiful, and very tasty.
Lastly, they lock the front door to keep the meal customers warm in the winter and have guests enter by the side door! Smart and thoughtful!
All I can say is go, you won't be disappointed!

I thought long and hard over if I should do a review…
This restaurant was a complete disappointment. Management (female) was snide she needed to go to the kitchen three times, (4 if you include the waitress going back and 5 when the owner came out before we left) she didn’t know the basics and didn’t realize butter was dairy, then said “well I don’t know what you want it’s an Italian restaurant, everything will have dairy in it.”
I’m hungry, and didn’t want a salad. (She was visibly frustrated 4X to the kitchen.) I could try wings or eggplant, asked what would be considered a full meal? I selected the 10 wings, because it sounded like the most filling (at other restaurants as a comparison) and couldn’t have the sauce for the eggplant (so I ruled that out). I tried to confirm and asked again if it was a full meal, and again I didn’t get a response. Finally able to order drinks when meal arrived. SHOCKED! They were the tiniest wings I’ve ever seen, it was clearly an appetizer portion and left the restaurant hungry.
Over an hour and 10-15+ later asking for the check, at the end of the meal we were finally asked how the meal was. (It wasn’t that busy) Haven’t seen anybody since asking questions meal delivery, I expressed how horrible of a disappointment this was for our first visit. The owner then came out, offered to remake a meal but will be running late to be elsewhere. It was far too late for any corrections. By now it’s close to an hour and 20-30 min later.
The owner stated that the sauce should be okay, “not much cheese” in it, but still didn’t understand I cannot have dairy. After a 7-10 minute conversation
For me, it was a complete fail and adding salt to an injury to eat at a drive through after paying for a 45.00 meal. (Friend had flat bread pizza that could have fed two people - complete off balance) If I would have had eggplant without the sauce and wings it would have cost about 35.00 in order to satisfy what would be equivalent to one meal and certainly not what I wanted eating there. There were ZERO suggestions at the time, what I could eat or be modified with legitimate questions of inquiry. When they suggested the pizza I asked if the sauce could be modified with tomato sauce, but without sauce or cheese, how are you able to modify a pizza, it would be veggies on top of bread? Can you put tomato sauce on it, again no response, no answer.
Owner tried to justify that the manager has worked there for several years and gets flustered and she knows the answers but stumbles. My message to the owner that if you know this and your manager doesn’t know these basic questions repeatedly, there is no excuse, it’s incredibly frustrating for a patron to experience half of what we did.
I would then recommend a small piece of paper (modified menu) that would have your menu options that can be modified for dairy free, that doesn’t mean putting cheese in the sauce and calling it okay and dairy free. Milk allergies also includes butter, cheese, cream, they are all in the same category. She needs to memorize the basics. After the second of four trips between waitress and manager (you being the 5th at the end) someone should have known at least 1 full meal I could have and could be modified other than a salad. The pizza looked great, I’ve eaten at other places that things could have been modified. You were on site knowing how things could have been modified should have been resolved in the first 10 minutes or 3 trips to the table. If she gets flustered create a cheat sheet to pass over to a customer. Find a solution for her and for those who are hungry coming in to eat.
The photo reference - the wings are next to the same type cups for a small portion of salad dressing in a traditional restaurant. Providing accurate information should have been easy and is clearly an appetizer, there were so many opportunities for your staff to get it right, it was apparent that we were an inconvenience to them.
Will take review down once it’s corrected.
