Our family has been coming here for 25 years, my deceased brother Joe Christol worked at that location for years under Rich and he was ALWAYS fantastic to us but we had a miserable experience tonight with manager Anthony and the young lady taking orders on the phone.
Initially I called to order a house special pizza, I explained it was a DEEP DISH pizza with fresh tomatoes and she acknowledged it and offered me 2 options, thin crust and hand tossed, I said that doesn't sound right isn't there a deep dish option and she said that's the hand-tossed option, I stressed I wanted to make sure it was the right pizza and she said it was, cool sounds great except it wasn't the correct pizza.
I called back to try and talk to Rich just to get the right pie, she told me he's too busy and he was, it's Friday night, guy was runnin around the kitchen working, I get it but instead of offering a solution the young lady just told me I got what I ordered, that I specifically "asked" for hand-tossed. Well you're wrong, pull the audio if you need to we had a group of people here that heard it. After me being blamed for their mistake I hung up out of frustration.
But wait, there's more! my girlfriend who's never been to Wisconsin flew up from Florida with me, my mom's been talking up Ruffalos to her all week, how much she loved that house special and how much her late son loved that job and his boss Rich. So she decides to call back to get a resolution, she gets manager Anthony on the phone, offered no apology, kept repeating "if you ask for thick you get hand tossed", okay brother great, except we said deep dish like 4 times and then even says "oh she might not know we offer pan". You're a pizza place with 3 kinds of crust, what do you mean the person taking phone orders might not know about the pan style? I don't think he even realized how dumb that sounded. So Anthony being the great manager he is offers to make us the correct pizza albeit with a $3 upcharge for the specialty crust, after we pointed out how silly it was to make us pay the upcharge after we already paid a $1.50 upcharge for crust we didn't ask for he interrupts my girlfriend and says "so what do you want me to do just go back and forth with you all night?".
Me and my girlfriend both work in leadership at different companies, this Anthony guy as a leader (training) and a problem solver (customer service) was atrocious. We agreed to have them remake the pizza even with the hilarious $3 upcharge but honestly I can't trust that this guy isn't gonna spit in it so if it's not been spit in give it to an employee that deserves it.
Oh and when you put your phone down to talk about customers make sure you're not on speaker phone, we all heard that.
Joe loved you, Rich!

CAUTION: Terrible customer service but decent pizza. Our family has been customers—and family friends of Rich—for over 20 years. We’re in town visiting, and my boyfriend and his mom hyped this place up as “the best pizza I’ll ever have,” so I was genuinely excited to try it.
My boyfriend called to place the order and specifically asked for the house special deep dish (“pan”) pizza, explaining multiple times that they’ve been ordering it for years and wanted to be sure it was the deep dish style. The girl taking the order stated they only offer thin crust or hand-tossed, and said hand-tossed was the thickest option. At no point did she mention or offer the pan style. (Important note for future customers: you have to explicitly ask for pan—it is not offered as an option.)
When we received the wrong pizza, we immediately called back to calmly fix the issue and even offered to return the incorrect one. During this call, the same employee spoke negatively about us to her manager while still on the line—we heard everything.
We then spoke with Anthony (Manager), who did not offer a real solution and instead defended the employee, insisting she offered pan style when she absolutely did not. He said “are we just going to go back and forth?”when explaining the story to him. We clearly and calmly explained the order again. His solution was to remake the pizza but charge us an additional $3 upcharge for the pan—despite the mistake being on their end.
We also asked multiple times to speak with Rich, who we know personally and who was confirmed to be there, both to say hello and to address the issue. Our requests were repeatedly denied, and we were refused any contact with him.
At this point, the situation felt so uncomfortable and unprofessional that we were genuinely uneasy about even picking up the replacement pizza incase they were to spit or mess with it. It was very clear they disliked us as customers.
I’ve never left a bad review before, but the lack of accountability, poor communication, and unprofessional behavior made this experience extremely disappointing—especially given our long history with this business.
Rich we still wish you the best for you business and hope you are doing well. Sorry we weren’t allowed to speak with you. (P.S I did not get the girls name she was at the front with brown hair/thin incase you need to speak with her)
