I eventually went inside and waited about four minutes before anyone helped me—one employee looked at me and then continued their conversation with coworkers. I really love Dairy Queen, but between the poor service and just-okay food, this will be my last visit to this location.

After waiting patiently, I overheard this employee loudly mock the spelling of my first name to another staff member. Not just once, but repeated it again and louder. My name is “Kandi,” and while I’ve heard jokes about my name my entire life, it was disappointing and unprofessional to experience that in a business setting. When I spoke up, the employee offered a dismissive “sorry.” I asked for their name, which they gave as “Christian,” and was told there was no manager on duty. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, and no customer should be mocked by staff. I hope management addresses this issue so other customers don’t experience the same level of disrespect.
