Subs so slow, our party almost had to leave without them.
I love writing reviews about businesses I love, sadly, this is not one of those reviews.
I scheduled a party pack of subs to be delivered between 9:00–9:15 AM on a Saturday.
Why? Because it was my birthday and my friends and I were leaving on a party bus at 9:30 for a lake day.
9:15 rolls around. No subs. No call. No email. No smoke signal. So I call the store and the employee tells me she's the only one working, they don’t deliver this early (then...why is that an option online?), and she’s too busy making subs to call anyone.
I worked in the service industry for decades, I understand it is stressful and lots of unexpected things can happen. This was not one of them. It definitely was something that could’ve been resolved with a quick phone call.
I asked to have a manager contact me and she informed me she is the manager. I explained to her how I ordered the subs early because we were leaving on a bus at 9:30… there was zero accountability or empathy for the situation on her end. I get it, you’re alone, you have to make a bunch of subs, but that is also your job.
I asked several times when and if the subs would be delivered. She told me she was going to call Uber Eats to deliver them but had no idea when the subs would come.
My boyfriend went to pick them up and the poor guy gets yelled at by the same employee, she
tells him we ruined her whole day. Don’t worry, we don’t have 15 people on a bus waiting for these subs.
The most frustrating part is, I even called earlier that week to update the order to add additional food and no one mentioned, "Hey, we actually don't deliver that early."
I called Jimmy John’s corporate for a refund of just the delivery fee because the subs were never delivered and sadly, they still have not reimbursed me.
They did send me a free sub card, which I am less than thrilled to use as I’d prefer not to be berated by a JJ’s employee again. I would just like my delivery fee back… call me crazy but is that truly too much to ask for?
