After that, we tried to ask for our food, but he completely ignored us, so we ended up waiting around 45 minutes even though our order was already ready. I totally understand that there are food safety policies, but the way the situation was handled felt unnecessarily aggressive and unprofessional.

My friend who ordered right before me got theirs within 15 minutes. I asked about it every 15-30 minutes because I assumed I had been skipped but they kept confirming it would be right out. Staff admittedly did seem annoyed with me for checking but I was getting impatient after 2 whole hours for fast food. When my order did come out, it contained literally nothing I ordered other than a quesadilla. Had two random other things and it all had meat. After 2 hours of waiting I just gave up and gave the food to someone who needed it more because I couldn’t eat it. Not sure what happened here but am sure that it was unreasonable.
