Yelm location has been consistently disappointing.
The Starbucks inside this store has been the worst Starbucks experience I’ve ever had. Multiple times, I’ve stood at the counter with two employees present, and they’ll watch me stand there without greeting or helping. I understand they have other tasks, but acknowledging a customer is basic customer service. One of the employees in particular could benefit from corrective training.
The floral department pricing also feels out of touch, especially in today’s economy when families are struggling just to afford groceries. A small poinsettia that’s $6.99 at the Graham Safeway was placed—still in its foil wrapper—into a simple metal tin with sparkles and then doubled to $12.99. I understand “value-added” floral items exist, but this wasn’t any kind of arrangement or redesign. It was just dropping the existing plant into a cheap container and charging double.
And honestly, most interactions with employees here—especially today—come off short, rushed, and borderline rude. As someone who values customer service, it’s disappointing.
On the flip side, shout-out to the Canyon Road Safeway. The lady who runs the breakfast bar there is amazing—fast, friendly, and consistently great at what she does. That’s how customer service should be done.
I’m saying all this because I’ve always supported Safeway, and I really hope this location improves. Yelm deserves better

I am sick and tired of Safeway ripping us off. They more than double a price, then reduce it to slightly less than regular price IF you scan it in their clip app, then the scanned coupon never ends up making it to checkout. Should be illegal, period. I do all I can to avoid shopping at Safeway. That is sad because Ive shopped with them for 30 years.
