Great store, nice people. Much like every Safeway I've ever been to, though, the checkout lines are very slow. I don't work there, so I usually don't use the extremely long self-checkout.

I had to stop shopping at this store. They never have any check stands open. It's all self checkout. I already have a full time job. I have to drive further to do my shopping but at least it's cheaper and they have people working the check stands. I would think since they closed the Mill Plain store they would have plenty of works.

For the most part, great store. That is until you get to the deli. I get that they can be busy, but on Sunday afternoons or Friday evenings, you would think that they would schedule more than one worker on the line. If anyone else sees customers waiting, they walk by pretending they can't see you. Far be it for me to tell management how to run their departments, but customer service really tanked in an effort to save $ on labor.

Scheduled an appointment for the flu shot. A friendly lady administered it. Very fast, on-time and efficient in two minutes. Get your flu shot this year.

I had one of the worst shopping experiences I’ve ever had at this Safeway. I came in for just a few items and went to the only register with a light on. The checker was helping a woman whose coupons didn’t match her items, and instead of moving her to customer service or opening another lane, the checker, manager, and even another employee who seemed to know the customer all stood there trying to make the coupons work. I waited forever while this was happening. Another employee in the back was ringing people up, but he kept his light off and never offered to help anyone else — including me — even though it was clear the only open lane was completely stuck. Just when they finally finished with the woman ahead of me, she pulled out another coupon for items she didn’t have, and they started the whole process all over again. At that point, I gave up and left without my groceries. They might’ve saved this customer a couple of dollars, but they lost a lot more from my cart. The customer service here is awful, and with so many other grocery stores in Vancouver, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
