Stanley and Seafort’s delivers one of the most memorable dining settings in Tacoma, with sweeping panoramic views of downtown and the shimmering waters of Commencement Bay. It’s the kind of place where the scenery alone makes the visit worthwhile, especially around sunset when the city and harbor really come alive. The food, however, was a bit more of a mixed experience. The clam chowder was good overall, but ours arrived slightly cold and could have used more bacon to bring out that smokiness you find in authentic versions in New England. The Caesar salad was fairly ordinary and didn’t stand out in any meaningful way. For the mains, the sirloin steak was well-prepared and enjoyable, though not particularly memorable. The shrimp scampi followed a similar note—tasty and satisfying, but nothing that truly set it apart. Dessert was where the meal really shined. The crème brûlée was excellent, with a perfectly thin caramelized sugar crust that cracked beautifully and delivered just the right hint of that slightly burned, bittersweet flavor. The key lime pie was equally impressive—bright, balanced, and tasted homemade. The recipe for the key lime pie has remained unchanged since the restaurant’s founding in 1971.

This was a great restaurant. We came here for our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make the meal special. Parking lot is across the street from the restaurant. Reservations make it easier to get a table with a view. The desert menu is amazing too!

Our server was perfection ! I forgot her name she said she’s from Colorado . But food was also delicious. I love that they have wild fish as an option . We really enjoyed their steak and mashed potatoes too . My husband and I tried their Moscow mule specialty which was our fav and we really enjoyed their exotic mojito and there was like a watermelon with basil vodka . I’m still thinking about the dessert . The server recommended the monkey bread dessert which was truly unique and tasty . We enjoyed everything and signed up for their rewards program . It only made sense amazing food with an amazing view of the city !

Absolutely fantastic. Had the chef special of filet mignon with shrimp scampi and mashed potatoes, and it was a 10/10. Never had a better filet mignon and every one I've had before is now lesser in my mind now that my eyes have been opened to how good a filet mignon could actually be. My wife had the crab and shrimp fettuccine and said it was very good but not fantastic like the filet mignon. Don't remember our waiters name bit she was very professional, knew the menu, and was conservative with her recommendations to us which we appreciated. Very good experience over all.

The drinks and service was great! The food was not. It kinda reminded me of cafeteria food. The shrimp were small and over cooked, the steak was raw which was crazy since it was like half an inch thick and slightly tough. I ate a few bites on each end and then waitress took it back to the kitchen to cook it more. I have never had a place take food someone has received and ate off of and put it back on the grill. Thats crazy to me and I feel like contaminating factors come into play. We had 5 drinks, surf & turf and clam chowder and bill was around 150. It was our first time and I was not impressed. If we ever go back we will enjoy the view and just have drinks(which are pricey). Definitely never steak or shrimp there again.
