For a long while, I was a regular here, but I'm finding it harder and harder to find a reason to keep going. It's one thing for prices to go up, but for the quality to go down? Burrito's that aren't full. Breakfast items thst are light onto the eggs and this is a tequila place where I've gone from being in love with the margaritas to a place where they taste worst than the ones at a dive bar. The cost cutting turned this place i to a lower tier restaurant when a year ago i loved it here. It might be time to close the door on red star.

Excellent Service. An interesting menu. We had an early lunch before a movie. The Special Taco of the Month was a big hit. I had one Fish Taco and one Carnitas Taco with rice and beans. They make their own corn and flour tortillias in house. Everything we ordered was delicious. Arriving early meant we had a very attentive Server. The place was filling up when we left. It appears they have a busy bar scene. On an irritating note, parking was a problem. We parked on Market St. close to a construction trailer across from the old YMCA. Off course we returned to an expensive parking ticket even though the nearest Pay Station was behind a construction fence. We were planning to go to The Grand but parking limits near the Theater are 90 minutes. Tacoma doesn't want our business.

While visiting the area, me and my friend wanted to grab a bite late after work. We decided to come here. Everything was so good. We back again two days later! Great music, attentive & warm service staff, and delicious, creative options for both drinks and tacos.

Rating: 3/10 (Food) | 10/10 (Vibes) Listen, Red Star, we need to have a little "family meeting." Normally, coming here is the highlight of my week—the service is top-tier, the atmosphere is immaculate, and I usually leave happier than a Carrington winning a lawsuit on Dynasty. But today? Today was the Falcon Crest season finale of disappointments. My best friend and I popped in for a quick "to-go" bite, and while the appetizer we shared was great, my Idaho Taco was... well, it was going through a mid-life crisis. Here’s the breakdown of my heartbreak: The Potato: I’m not saying this baked potato has been sitting in the warmer since the 1980s, but it definitely lacked the "freshly picked" energy I’m used to. It was unusually tiny and had that "I’ve seen some things" texture of a potato that’s been lingering in a warmer for far too long. The Steak: It was so hard and dry I almost needed a dental consult (and trust me, I know people). The Effort: I took it back to work and tried to perform culinary CPR on it. I added my own extras and used every bit of the tiny condiment containers, but even with my "sprucing," I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. It was just flavorless. I’m genuinely bummed because the service was excellent as always, but for the first time ever, the food just wasn’t "it." I love y'all, but this specific meal was a 3 out of 10. I’m not mad, I’m just... disappointed. Like when you realize a "Cliffhanger" means you have to wait an entire summer to find out who survived the wedding massacre. I’ll be back because I know you can do better, but please—let's leave the vintage potatoes in the past!

My friends and I consider this to be a great place to catch some happy hour deals. Their menu consists of a variety of fusion style tacos and an expansive tequila selection. The staff are always friendly and speedy. My only complaint is that they can't make me a margarita to-go😂😂
