I did my shopping quickly and while on check out the person in front of me said, sorry my husband is in the bathroom, go ahead of me.. so that's feels like discrimination to me. The store itself has great finds and deals.. just the amount of staff at the front seems unnecessary and a bit intimidating.

When I asked to speak with a manager, she stated that she was the manager; unfortunately, her tone and attitude did not reflect that of a manager. I walked away and spoke with the customer service desk to ask who I could address the issue with, and they contacted the store manager. I truly wish I had gotten their name because they were AMAZING! They listened without interrupting, maintained eye contact, showed empathy, and did not become defensive or argumentative. They apologized for how the interaction made me feel and assured me my concerns would be addressed. Whether anything changes or not, I really appreciated being heard. The staff at this location; both store and pharmacy; has always been friendly, which is why this experience caught me off guard and honestly hurt. I am giving this store 4 stars despite the pharmacist interaction because the store manager stepped in and demonstrated exactly what leadership and customer service should look like. His professionalism is the reason I will continue using this location for both my prescriptions and groceries. To the pharmacist: I forgive you and I pray that your new year is full of blessings. 💜

He mistreated my sister (a black woman) and when I called to speak to him, he was extremely condescending and rude to me. Scott was the first person who wouldn’t let her check out alcohol in the self check but let someone else do it. My sister wont be coming back to this location.
- DCDrew ConwayDec 18, 20252.0I’m giving this store two stars because the people who work here are always friendly, and I think they’re making the best of a bad situation. Literally everything else sucks. For one thing, the store is about half the size of a regular supermarket. You can forget a bakery, deli, or seafood counter. They have bread, meat, and seafood, but everything is pre-packaged. Everything I have ever bought from the hot food case has been stale. There is very little produce to choose from. There is only one way in and out of the store, and it’s extremely tight. Windows are always boarded up, and I never feel safe. I am sure 95% of the other people shopping are just everyday folks like me, but the other 5%… yikes. There is a much better Safeway in Proctor, and it’s worth the drive if you have a car.
