While about a week ago I would have ranked this store five stars, I visited today and found that gates have been put across all the entrances, with metal barriers around the front of the store, and it felt so deeply unsettling that I won't be going back when other grocery stores are an option. It's a shame, because this was my normal go-to for quick groceries, but walking in was like being hit with a hammer labeled 'surveillance state'.

I have been shopping at the Safeway on 29th for 6 years! I have the app, I have had the membership. I use to always only go to this grocery store because it was "normal" clean, friendly, organized, great deals, always fresh produce. It didn't get weird until after 6pm when they stacked carts to block exits. Loss prevention is what I'm assuming. I went there this last Saturday with my children, locked in ready to spend over a $100 on the bare minimum. I walk in and the whole place is locked down.... no joke, there is an automatic gate that allowed you in, and the fence is wrapped around everything, deli display, Starbucks, ect. Only one way in and only one way out. I get it loss prevention is important. But I specifically go to this Safeway to not feel like a damn criminal. If I wanted to feel this way I would go to the Hamilton location. I was livid. We left and crossed the street to Rosauers. I am done with Safeway. If they removed the excessive security gate I will be back. But we all know that isnt going to happen. I refuse to allow this corporation ruin my peace. I am offically a Yokes, Rosauers, and Winco shopper. And yes, I know Winco has an entrance and an exit, same as Rosauers. But they don't have gates that lock and gates blocking exits.... 😒 I can literally turn around anywhere and leave even if I am moving in the wrong direction. Way to kill a vibe and loose a customer of 6 years.

All the stars! First pic was my face when I arrived as they were locking the door (door closed, padlock about to click.). Praise to Kyle. He smiled when I asked if he could help me. He asked my info, poked his head around the door, and a very noce blonde lady with short hair handed him medicine and had me on my way. Infected saliva glads hurt, bad. Thank you for the relief. Pic two was me today. Thank you!! Thank you!! (Not the prettiest pictures of me lol but im sick) Goto there, they sure do care. ❤️ Go Hawks! 💙💚

2.1.26: First time in at this location as I was in the area. I came in for some fresh broccoli but couldn't pass up the bakery lol. A lemon blueberry colossal cake slice caught my eye--I'm no stranger to Safeway's cake slices and my go-to is the confetti cake. However, I've never seen lemon blueberry before and wanted to try it. Of course I picked out the wonky slice that looked liked it had more frosting lol. I also got a maple donut, which I've probably had hundreds in my lifetime... they're consistent and everyone knows I like consistency. Anyways, back to my cake slice review. The lemon blueberry was more than enough for one person and could easily be shared between 2. It was very moist and didn't have that fake factory lemon or blueberry taste. It was more subtle like you would find in a lemon blueberry loaf. The cake itself wasn't overly sugary--that's the frosting's job lol. I will say I picked out the slice that had a more frosting but that the other slices were all uniform in size. Overall, it reminded me of lemon blueberry bread but with yummy frosting. The store was clean and all the produce looked nice and fresh. Each department I visited was organized and aisles were obstacle free. My cashier, Cindy, had a smile and was friendly. Next time, I plan to check out their deli.

It’s a grocery store so they do what grocery stores do…sell groceries. This one was cleaner than most however. The cheese isle liked one a lawsuit waiting to happen tho. There were missing panels at the foot of the refrigerated displays with exposed wiring and at the metal joints along the display there were sharp metal sheets sticking out just begging for someone to get their shin too close and get torn open. Or ready to cut a kids hand wide open as they run around doing what they want to do cause the parents don’t give a crap where they go.
