Meat and vegetables are often spoiled. Be very careful when purchasing. I’ve wasted a lot of money assuming they do any kind of quality control. Shelved and frozen products can be long expired.
The security guards here are very pleasant but the whole culture of suspecting every customer of theft is extremely old. They just added new rails and guards around the front which are ugly and make the store feel like a prison.
God forbid you have a controlled medication you hope to get from this pharmacy. You’ll spend 30 min just trying to reach them as they don’t answer for customers. When they do they’ll be pissed at you for even calling. You have to go by in person request they refill, then remind them that they forgot to do it. Then wait in the store 30 min to an hour for them to do it. That whole process can take 2-3 days.
Prices are outrageous on something’s and not aligned with other store in the area. Highly advise shopping around bc you can easily pay 2-10$ more for something here when you can buy the same thing cheaper (even at Trader Joe’s!).

I have recieved assistance from one employee . The cashier had an attitude with me from asking questions about their product. The store was not organized, and I was confused on prices since products are not where they supposed to be

They are too understaffed to be locking their freezers and requiring staff response to client needs for shelf selections.

One star cause how do you have an entire grocery store spanning almost three blocks but not one public restroom for paying customers? Absolutely ridiculous‼️

I've shopped at this Safeway since 1989. I've never been impressed with the staff, but I've never been treated poorly until yesterday. I needed some vermouth so I went into their liquor corral (walled off so that drug addicts can't steal alcohol) which has its own checkstand. I deliberately got all the other stuff I needed so I could check out at the liquor corral and be done, as I was in a hurry. Nobody was there to ring me up even after waiting for several minutes. I went up to self check to ring my own groceries up. I scanned the vermouth first so that the person staffing self check would help me with I.D. etc. After scanning ALL my items and nicely asking for help, the carbon drone sauntered over to me as if she was heavily dosed with thorzine. Glaciers have moved faster. Then she very rudely told me I wasn't allowed to purchase alcohol at self check. I had just bought a bottle of bourbon at a different Safeway at self check. I called to complain. They channeled me to the manager who never picked up. My call was redirected so I left a message. A day and a half later, I have not heard back.
