A staff member making sandwiches was cutting fresh bread with a knife just previously lodged under a filthy metal hinge for the server's bench top. Upon me noticing, I requested he use a new and clean knife, to which he then suggested I was being problematic by yelling, "Someone else help this guy; next customer!" Then he proceeds to cut more bread with the same knife, while claiming the entire serving area is a "sterile" kitchen space. This is like saying the space between a stove and granite counters in a home kitchen are sterile because the countertops were cleaned as best possible. Now imagine it being 2025 in an advanced economy nation, and someone trying to serve you and your loved ones food with this behavior and perspective toward unsanitary conditions.
