Nice parking and building, but all price tags +$2-3 to prices at Trader Joe's(200ft away)/Whole Foods(3min drive)/QFC(5 min drive). The store was almost empty (Saturday 3pm), but no free self-checkouts (partially broken, partially blocked by carts full of some rubbish on a sale).

Refused Service, Prevented From Speaking With Manager & Confrontational Staff at Queen Anne Safeway!
I have now experienced repeated issues at the Queen Anne Safeway when trying to purchase a pre-made birthday cake from the locked bakery display after 7:00 PM.
My first time being refused was by a different employee (I do not recall the name). I was told the bakery was closed and no one could assist me.
At another Safeway location in Bellevue around 11:00 PM, a night employee saw me looking at cakes front the display and proactively asked if I needed assistance. I explained what had happened previously at Queen Anne and told her I believed cakes could not be sold after 7:00 PM. She clearly stated that this was not true and that whoever told me that simply did not want to assist.
Tonight, I needed a birthday cake and decided to go to this Safeway location since it’s the closest to my home. Unfortunately, the same situation happened again. This time, it was with Nick G., who was working at the self-checkout register. He told me that because the bakery closes at 7:00 PM, no one could assist me and the cake could not be sold.
When I asked to speak with a manager, Nick refused to contact one and said the manager was “in the restroom.” I responded that I would wait and simply asked that the manager be notified via radio that a customer was waiting. He denied.
If a manager is temporarily unavailable, the appropriate step is at least to notify them that a customer has requested assistance. Otherwise, how would the manager know someone is waiting? After using the restroom, the manager could easily return to other duties without ever being aware that a customer had asked to speak with him.
I waited approximately 15 minutes near the self-checkout area, and no attempt was made to inform the manager. Eventually, I had to walk around the store and locate the manager myself.
A customer should not have to search the store to speak with management after requesting assistance.
After waiting around 15 minutes, I located Manager Brandan myself. Once I explained the situation, he agreed to help and retrieve the cake. That is exactly what makes this concerning. if it could be done at that moment, then why was I told twice that it was impossible?
While I was calmly discussing this inconsistency with the manager, a night stock employee named “Jeff (or Jeffrey)” approached and inserted himself into the conversation. He stated it was “not their job” to assist once the bakery was closed. When I asked why other Safeway locations in Bellevue, Northgate, Shoreline, and elsewhere in the Seattle area assist customers with the same request, he responded that maybe those stores were “not busy.”
When I said the store did not appear busy at the time, JEFF (JEFFREY) raised his voice and challenged me with, “How do you know?” His tone was confrontational and unnecessary, especially since I was already speaking with the manager.
This is the only Safeway in the greater Seattle / King County area where I have experienced refusal of service, resistance to involving a manager, and confrontational behavior from staff.
It’s disappointing because this is my neighborhood store. The issue is not the cake, it’s the way customers are treated here!

Beware, they close 30 minutes earlier than the posted time. Otherwise, it's a decent store.

This is my favorite Safeway to frequent. It is clean, well organized, and well-stocked with most everything from cat food to dragon fruit. The produce seems to be selected carefully and is always of high quality. As well as the meat department. The staff are all very friendly, willing to help you find whatever it is that you may need. Even the pharmacy is great. They are fast, efficient, knowledgeable, with there customer service skyrocketing the flawless visit. I'm glad that I chose that pharmacy to carry my latest prescriptions. A special thanks to pharmacist Keith C. For his unprecedented customer service. Thank you.

HORRIBLE PHARMACY! The prescriptions that get sent here sit in the system until you call and ask them to fill it - they DO NOT fill once they receive the prescription. FURTHER - if there are any issues with your medications they DO NOT call you to get your insurance information, to tell you that something is out of stock, or any other information regarding your medication. The pharmacy staff are completely rude, passive, and unhelpful - and the stock of nearly every medication is never where it should be so expect to wait a week or two to get your medications filled here. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
