Outstanding across the board. Food, service, atmosphere. Four of us went for Thanksgiving. Two ordered the fixed turkey menu, two ordered off the normal menu. We had oysters, meatballs, salad, pork shoulder, mashed potatoes, etc. Everything was perfectly seasoned and well balanced. I am not a fan of squash but ordered the squash soup and it was phenomenal, not overly sweet like most, lots of layers. The chef here knows what they are doing. Will definitely be back.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed the three-course Thanksgiving meal. The squash soup and seasonal salad were fresh and delicious, while the main course of turkey and mashed potatoes was flawless. The pumpkin pie tasted homemade and was a sweet ending to a great Thanksgiving. We also enjoyed a seasonal espresso martini and old fashioned, both great. The service was excellent and wait time was minimal. Can’t wait to try the normal menu.
We arrived very early for a last minute reservation. Understandably the host told us we would have to wait closer to our reservation or we could be served the full menu in the bar immediately. We opted for a table in the bar which was mostly full. Our server was polite and seemed knowledgeable and competent, but also overwhelmed. She appeared to have all 10-12 tables in the bar solo. Service was very slow. Meanwhile I kept an eye on the dining room. Which at no point was ever full. In fact a table that was cleared and not reset when we arrived sat that way the entire hour and a half I was there, while others just sat empty of guests. Surely we could have been seated early for our reservation. The food was OK, frozen Sysco fries, pre cubed tuna for the poke not even separated or dressed. Everything we ate had an assembled feel not a composed feel. By far the worst thing for me was the seating in the bar was prosperously low to the ground. My 6'1" knees could not fit under the table and sat higher than my waist in the low chair. In looking around this seemed like a design not a flaw and it ruined my comfort the entire meal. In the end the food cart down the street would have made a more scratch and authentic meal, while providing the same comfort and a 20th the price.

On September 3, 2025, I joined my friend for lunch at Alder & Ash, a venue we have previously visited together. The food was excellent, and we both appreciated the meal. My friend, who is on a fixed income, kindly paid for our lunch since our meetings are infrequent. Our server, April, was courteous and attentive; she promptly took our order—I requested a smash burger, while my friend ordered fish and chips. Upon arrival, our meals included the correct burger for me but a fish burger instead of the requested fish and chips for my friend. We immediately notified April of the error, and she apologized sincerely before replacing the dish with the correct order after a few minutes. She explained how the mistake may have occurred, and my friend graciously accepted her explanation. We continued our meal, enjoying conversation and laughter.
When the bill was presented, my friend placed her credit card on it without reviewing the charges. After payment, she put the receipt and her card away without examining them further. I later posted a four-star review for Alder & Ash, citing the quality of the food and the service. Subsequently, my friend contacted me to share that she had been charged $23.00 for the fish burger she did not order. She returned to Alder & Ash with her receipt and spoke with the manager, Warren, who assured her he would process a refund and follow up. Despite this assurance, the refund was not processed for several days, and calls were not returned. My friend made multiple visits to the restaurant over two months until she spoke with Hanna, who confirmed that the manager had finally initiated the credit. Ultimately, the bank reflected the refund. Given today’s high costs and the number of charges, it was disappointing that an 82-year-old customer had to persistently advocate for the return of funds that should not have been withheld.
We have decided not to return to Alder and Ash due to concerns about trustworthiness with certain staff members. This situation has raised issues regarding the handling of senior women's funds and maintaining proper ethical standards.
I had a deeply disappointing experience at Alder & Ash. The food was incredibly salty, overpriced, and tasted as if it had come straight out of a bag. The quality was shockingly poor for the cost.
Service was equally frustrating. Our server brought only one drink the entire night, and despite repeatedly asking for another lemonade, it never arrived. We were given a single glass of water, and the wine we ordered never made it to the table at all. The staff appeared inattentive and disengaged throughout the meal.
While the decor was attractive, the atmosphere was extremely loud and made it difficult to conduct the business meeting we were there for.
Overall, between the poor food quality, lackluster service, and disruptive environment, this was not a restaurant I would return to or recommend.
