The young men who do the online orders are very professional. They helped me resolve all the issues with my first online order at this store. I will definitely keep doing my orders at this Safeway! Unfortunately, I never got their names, but this was on the 12th.

They just installed electronic price tags (known to implement price gauging); I will not be shopping here until they are removed. I’m transferring my prescriptions elsewhere.

This Safeway has never not had what my wife and i need and we dont take that for granted :) the prices are outrageous sometimes but that isnt the local stores fault. Great cheese bagels at the deli and excellent customer service there as well!

Recently, the pre-cut, packaged watermelon, cantaloupe, and mixed berries all used to be "buy 2, get 1 free." Now, only the mixed berries are "buy 2, get 1" and the watermelon and cantaloupe are only 2 for $12. These deals are really helpful because I can buy certain fruits without overstocking since they go bad in 3 days but now, I'm spending twice the money and having twice the fruit, at which I don't finish by mid week, goes in the garbage. It's frustrating since I usually get watermelon and the mixed berries but now it's one or the other otherwise, I'm wasting money on fruits I won't be eating. And half the time, the fruits on the shelves are sitting there for days close to expiring. Hopefully someone sees this, message corporate, and get the deals back.

⭐ 1 star I shopped at the West Side Safeway today and discovered once I got home that the steaks I purchased were not in my bags. I immediately called the store, and an associate confirmed the steaks were still there. I asked for a store credit for a future visit, since the steaks were a manager’s special/couponed item and would not be available again. I was told I could “get the same items,” which wasn’t accurate. A man who identified himself as the manager then got on the phone, and I had to re-explain the entire situation. He said I could come back to pick them up. I explained that I was already home and unable to return, and that this mistake occurred because the associate failed to place the items in my cart, not because I forgot them. At that point, he demanded my home address. I said I was not comfortable providing my exact address but could give a mile radius if needed. He continued to insist on knowing where I live and initially refused to give me his name. I told him that if he was demanding personal information, I had the right to know who I was speaking to. He eventually said his name was Michael, which matches the store manager name on my receipt. I was then told Safeway does not do refunds or store credit of any kind, despite the fact that: I have a receipt The store confirmed the steaks were not in my possession The items were left behind due to employee error I should not have to spend additional gas and time to correct a mistake I did not make. This response felt unethical and dismissive. This store has gone downhill overall. I previously had to change pharmacies due to constant long lines. I was once nearly given insulin instead of lidocaine patches, and another pharmacy staff member repeatedly made inappropriate and rude comments about my medications—completely unacceptable. I am a Fresh Pass member, shop at Safeway and their gas station weekly, and have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. After today, I no longer feel valued as a customer and will be taking my business elsewhere. Advice to other shoppers: check your bags before leaving. If something is missing, your purchase may not be honored.
