- SBSteve BushDec 21, 20254.0Organized chaos is what Mr. T's looked like at first appearance. While waiting in line outside, I was made aware that Mr. t's is a pretty popular spot in the area. I was told my wait would be about 25 minutes which was pretty close. When my "pager" went off, I was quickly seated and provided with ice water and the coffee I asked for. Very shortly thereafter, my order for steak & eggs was taken. My food took about another 25 minutes to arrive but the place was hopping and everyone got their meals in the order they arrived so I wasn't too bothered. What follows is by no means a complaint, as I was given every opportunity to rectify it. I had ordered a mid-rare steak. When it arrived, the server apologized, stating that the steak was thicker on one side than the other and the the cook didn't want to over-do any of it so if it was too rare at all, they would take it back and fry it further. I assured her that I was comfortable with however it sat on the plate. The steak was HUGE, and as I was advised, it was delicious and very rare in spots. Had I cared, I would have simply brought the rare part home. Being a hungry carnivore however I happily consumed everything. All the while, although very busy, the servers kept my beverages topped up. Overall a nice experience in Mt. Vernon Thanks Mr. T's

And every single bite was packed with flavor. The plates come out stacked high, hot, and absolutely loaded. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, not rushed or skimpy at all. The pancakes were massive, the breakfast plates were overflowing, and the value for the portion size is unreal. Service was friendly and fast, even with how busy it was, and the atmosphere felt comfortable and welcoming. This is the kind of place you leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.
