Pretty cool idea drive in. Kiddo had the burger, said it was good. I had the crispy chicken which was terrible and mystery meat? The recharges were the best thing. Would not go back for chicken.

I saw the advertisement for the smash burger, my wife checked out the web site and it indicated a special price for a combo of some sort. We got there and couldn't go in to order, had to use the inter com at the parking spot. The order taker was not patient with me and cust me off before I can ask about the burger price, what it comes w ith and an addition of a side. The worker came out and I paid in cash he wanted to know if I wanted my change and I had to order my side in a seperate order. So I told him.I want my change and went to the intercom to place another order. After we got our side he asked if we canted our change over a dollar and change. You betcha no tip here waiting for our side while our food was getting colder as we waited. I see the reason why its no lobby policy is here. No cleaning needed, no transients getting high in the bathrooms, forcing public to use app, no clear menu prices, no indications of special pricing or combos on menu, with item contents and my favorite, attempt to make you to tip if you pay with cash. Well I am not coming back to Sonic for any reason in the near or distant future. To have to deal with crap. I would rather stay home and make my own burgers or sandwhiches. I see now why a bunch of fast food places are closing shop and going out of business. The public has had enough of the B.S.!
We couldn't order after waiting around for 30 minutes and even leaving to try the drive threw. Most sonics have HORRIBLE customer service I am finding.
I’m pretty disappointed with my experience at Sonic tonight (March 5th around 9 PM). I ordered a large milkshake that cost almost $8. The advertisement shows the shake with whipped cream — which is actually my son’s favorite part — but when I got it, there was little to no whipped cream at all. When I asked the employee about it, she told me it was their “policy.” I find that hard to believe, especially since the shake comes with a dome lid and the photos on Sonic’s website clearly show it topped with whipped cream — actually with more whipped cream than what I received.
The fries were also extremely salty to the point they were hard to eat.
Another issue was with paying. The employee (a heavyset girl working the window) came to my car to get my card. I asked if I could use tap-to-pay and she said “not tonight.” She then took my card inside for about 10 minutes, which made me uncomfortable. She also wasn’t very friendly, and unfortunately I didn’t catch her name.
After I got home to Arlington and turned my light on to take a drink of the milkshake, I noticed a long hair in it. My hair is less than an inch long, so it definitely wasn’t mine.
What makes this more frustrating is that I actually got a milkshake from the same location the night before, and that experience was better. But tonight was a big letdown. Between the missing whipped cream, overly salty fries, unfriendly service, my card being taken inside for a long time, and finding a hair in my shake, it was really disappointing.
One last thing that didn’t make sense: they claimed whipped cream was against policy, yet they gave me 15+ ketchup and mustard packets for one small fry.
Overall, not a good experience tonight and definitely not what I expect when paying nearly $8 for a milkshake.
