- DLDina LangeJan 6, 20265.0I just wanted to write to bring attention to my recent experience at Haggen's in Marysville. I am not much of a meat lover but had promised my friend I would make her beef stroganoff after my husband told her how great mine was. Normally I would buy stew meat and hand trim and tenderize myself and throw it in a crock pot on low for 4-6 hours. I had a commitment that morning which ran much longer than expected leaving only a few hours to get the meal prepared. I went to Haggen's and ask the butcher to help me. He immediately stopped what he was doing and explained to me how to buy meat that would be tender without prolonged cooking. He gave me clear options knowing I didn't know meat cuts. Seeing my face at the price which I could not afford he told me he would cut a piece in half and tenderize it for me. Then he said "would you like me to cut it up for you as well?" Talk about extra service extended kindly! I got the meat and grabbed a shrimp ring and headed for the self check out. While turning the shrimp ring on its side the shrimp juice oozed out all over the scanner. I asked the clerk for paper towels. She immediately came over and cleaned the scanner AND my shopping bag for me without being asked. When I finally finished paying I realized I never looked up the scan number for mushrooms? The clerk in front to self checkout sensed my frustration with myself and came over and looked up the code and entered it in for me while I fumbled for my payment. Once again WITHOUT asking she just did it. I wish I would have taken the time to ask all three of these people their names. I SHOULD have taking the time. My stroganoff dinner came out fantastic thanks to the help I got at your store. As someone who spent 50 years in the service business I can tell you it was a great experience.
