  5 Stars – Hands down the BEST experience I’ve had at a restaurant! I had the most amazing birthday surprise at HotHouse Fish in Lakewood, WA! I went there with my cousin after hearing all the hype, but when we pulled up, they were literally closing down for the night—chairs up, lights low, staff getting ready to leave because they had sold out of everything early (it was also super hot that day). I was so bummed, but I mentioned it was my birthday and that we had driven all the way out just to try their food. And y’all… the owner did not hesitate. He said, “All we have left is catfish,” and then turned around and said, “It’s on the house for your birthday.” 🤯🥹 Not only that, he gave us free beers and even an orange soda for my cousin’s daughter. They cooked up two orders of catfish and fries, just for us—even after a long, hot day when they were ready to head out. WHO DOES THAT?! The catfish? 🔥🔥🔥 Crispy, flavorful, and cooked with so much love. The vibe? Even better. The kind of hospitality that makes you feel like family. I told him we’ll definitely be back—again and again. I’m already planning my next trip so I can finally try their famous turkey leg! If you haven’t been here yet, check out their menu and get there early—because when it’s gone, it’s gone!   The food? 10/10. But Miss Dorothy? A national treasure. I’m not kidding. I’d come back just to hang with her. She welcomed me like we’d known each other for years and had me hyped for my plate 😭✨. They even upgraded my food because the meat was taking a little longer (which is 100% on me for showing up the second they opened 😅 meat’s gonna meat on its time). We don’t have spots like this in Seattle, so having one this close? Blessed. Highly favored. Hungry. 🫶🍴

  The drinks are the ticket. Delicious!! Service was not bad, just manned by a late teen young lady who was not prompt. I will definitely be going back for the alcohol slushies!!! She has four flavors.

  I’m from the south and only been here in wa for a year now ! I loved this place ! And the women working the front ( didn’t get her name ) she was amazing! Soooo home felt like ! And had a welcoming smile & vibe ! The man not sure if he was the owner but he was out cooking everything! He was also amazing! Thank you both for this wonderful experience and amazing food 😩 and for letting us take a picture with you ❤️
