I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a deeply distressing and unprofessional experience I had as an Instacart shopper at your Lake Forest Park Location. I was shopping as an Instacart shopper about 15 minutes before closing. When an employee told me to check out, I immediately went to the self-checkout. Because the order was incomplete, I had to refund several items through the Instacart app before I could finalize the transaction. What should have been a simple process turned into a terrifying ordeal because of this employee's behavior. While I was in the middle of managing the refunds on my phone and preparing to scan, this same employee approached me multiple times, each time with increasing aggression. He demanded that I check out immediately, threatening to kick me out of the store. I tried to briefly explain that I needed to process the refunds on the app first, but he would not let me speak. He repeatedly cut me off, escalating his voice and repeating his demands to "finish now or get out." It felt like he was looking for a confrontation. His behavior was not just impatient; it was intimidating and aggressive. His refusal to let me explain made me feel completely powerless and terrified. I was shaking and on the verge of tears, trying to focus on my phone to complete the transaction, all while fearing that any word or move I made would be used as an excuse for him to escalate the situation further. His constant interruptions and aggressive stance actually slowed me down, as I could barely think straight. Thankfully, I was able to complete the order. But the moment I got to my car, I broke down and cried. I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect and cruelty in any retail establishment. This wasn't about closing the store on time; this was a power trip. I felt verbally abused, humiliated, and completely dehumanized. I am sharing this not just to complain, but to make you aware of the profound impact this employee's actions have had. He created a hostile and frightening environment for a customer who was trying to comply with store policy. I did not deserve to be treated that way. I am still shaken by the experience and am fearful of returning to that store. I expect Safeway to take this complaint seriously and address this employee's behavior. He needs to understand that his conduct is unacceptable and that no customer should ever feel threatened or terrified while shopping at your store. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Sincerely, Shelly Update: I contacted the "contact us" page located at the bottom of our official website" to share my disturbing experience. For reference, this occurred at the night of March 9, 2026. I didn't get the name of the man that accosted me (he didn't have a name tag) but he was a caucasian male, skinny frame, balding.

This is in Lake Forest Park Town Center. It used to be Albertsons but has changed to a Safeway. Its a smaller Safeway & doesnt have everything a larger one does. But is very convenient because there are lots of other stores in the shopping center I frequent as well. Its very hard to find parking here between 3-7pm and on weekends, I believe this is due to Safeway sharing their parking lot with so many other businesses. Also there is a farmers market & Christmas type farmers market that takes over the back half of the parking lot close to the bank.
