Completely cluttered now with a plethora of end caps and random stand alone off the shelf displays making it difficult to simply move through the store and shop. Add that to prices, I am weighing location convenience with better options elsewhere.

2 Christmas seasons ago while shopping in the produce department I was rammed from behind by an employee pushing a flatbed cart so forcefully that I and my grocery cart where launched forward toppling a display of produce in cardboard cartons on the floor. The mans flatbed cart was piled so high with produce boxes he could not even see over the top. The isle was overly crowded with display items stacked on the floor making it difficult for 2 carts to pass each other in the isle. Guess that is why he rammed me. He never stopped to ask if I was OK or apologize for ramming and slamming me into my cart the lurched forward into the items on the floor. It should be prohibited for staff to bring carts into the isles during open store hours that they cannot see over. I would have gone to the front and asked to speak to the manager but because it was the holiday season I did not want to take the time to take the issue up with the manager. But for sure an incident report should have been written up at the time. Now let me address the Ads.....it takes 3 employees to try and figure them out for one thing. Do you scan the barcode in the paper with your Safeway app that you downloaded on your phone so you can get the Digital Deal? Nope. It says "Sorry no deals available for this item" yet it is clearly printed in the paper ad. So if you try to check out without having scanned the item properly you do not get the discounted price. Pretty sure that was the reasoning behind the complexity of the customers having to scan items to get the discount. It is so complicated they never get the discount. Probably some executives bright idea to trick people so they think they are getting a deal but they are not. Most people: A. don't take the time to check their receipt and B. if they do find an error don't want to take the time to go back and wait for an employee to correct the price which means waiting for a customer service person to assist them. Such a racket to scam people from the advertised savings. Personally I think a class action law suit should be initiated to prevent this kind of complicated ads. Next ad insult. Buy 2 six packs of Snapple and get 3 more for free. So now I am loading up 30 bottle of Snapple if there are actually 5 six packs available on the shelf to load into my cart. So as a Senior citizen I get to store 30 bottles of Snapple to get the full benefit of this snazzy ad. Why not add up the cost of the 5 packs of Snapple and divide that number by 5 and have that be the individual price of a 6 pack of Snapple. Why do I have to load up, carry and store 30 bottles of Snapple just to get the sale price???? The whole ad system is some executives idea to dupe people out of their money. It is a disgrace. Now I feel like Steve Martin from the movie Father of the Bride where he loses his marbles over buying the package of 12 hot dogs and the buns only come in packages of 8 or whatever? People just get tired of being taken advantage of my large corporations. And as a Senior citizen I resent have to buy in such huge multiples to get the discount or figure out how to operate your digital deals to get the savings at the register. You get the 3 stars because $1.97 digital deal for a Stouffers frozen entree is a good deal. Where can I eat a decent meal for that price and $1.99 sale price for a can of Progresso soup is also a very inexpensive meal. And your shelves are usually stocked with items ( yay ) which explains why your isles are clogged with employees restocking. Personally stocking shelves and blocking access to paying customers should be done at night when the store is closed.
